On the north side there were some non-retired NW guys teaching the sims.

Those are the only ones I've ever seen.

One would think getting a reasonable, significantly improved position in C2012 in this area is a priority. I guess we'll see when we see the opener.

We will see the opener, won't we?

I cant seem to get the exact figures but Gol pilots do not make a lot of money and they work a whole lot more than their US counterparts.

After reading the latest AWST update on Latin America, I'd say we absolutely needed a partner down there. However, it's unfortunate that our management and union has groomed us to be suspicious, looking for the next way they will try to take away our flying. Could they do something like: pax buys delta.com ticket and flies:

1- DCI RJ from anywhere to ATL
2- GOL 767 from ATL to Sao Paulo
3- GOL 737 to anywhere

I'm just asking...Delta pax with 3 legs and zero on a Delta airplane? If this is contractually possible, I wouldn't be surprised to see a big GOL widebody order sometime in the future. And then ALPA will tell us that Anywhere, US to Anywhere, SA was an unprofitable market for us...we needed all that feed.

On the command time, maybe. In a two man op, the Capt always signs for the jet and that is what many of these Asian carriers see as PIC time. For a three man op, you probably could get away with it for the two hrs that the Capt is no rest, but not when he is occupying his seat. Of course SIC all of the time

Sorry ACL,

If you are typed in the aircraft and sole manipulator of the controls, you are legal to log in command time. You are not the "captain of record."

What you are pushing is typically frowned upon in an interview setting. When Delta (and every other big time gig that I know of) interviews you, they only want "commander of record" time to be counted toward your PIC time. A quick way to not get hired is to log sole manipulator time.

Doesn't matter if I'm legal to do it - if it doesn't pass an employer's sniff test, it doesn't go in my logbook. And logging PIC while acting in the capacity as an SIC doesn't fly with any employer I'd like to work for. :)

Well, it looks like I won't be flying this week again. The beard is going to be pushing 3 weeks. 2 months on the airplane and not even 60 hours. wow!

How I think I look:

Well, either way... I'm going to walk around the neighborhood kicking things into wells and yelling.

Any idea what the finally breakdown will come to?

I figure LCC will get more money since they divested more slots, but I've been curious if we were entitled to the proceeds from the auction, and if so, how much money would we get.

Airways gets $60M so we get the rest...

Cheers

Had the type at interview and never even got asked. Hired at both, class date at both and picked DAL over SWA. Still like working at DAL but the next contract could change that feeling.
