I guess the best hope we have is that a no vote is cast on the next contract unless it has scope recovery

Scope recovery would be a conflict of interest to the ASA, Comair, Compass, and Pinnacle pilot groups. National has to represent all of it's members equally.:o

Bar, I'd love to see how overpaid I was at DCI if you have the short version handy, especially if you include how many hours I had to fly to credit what I did vs. how many hours you guys typically fly to credit what you do. Not saying you're wrong, but it certainly never felt that way!

That said, if we are woefully unproductive vs. DAL, in many cases you could blame the strange pairings DAL assigned to us, just as much as the odd philosophies our Bid Production guys clung to. We'd run into Pinnacle guys telling us about 24-hour 4-days that were commutable on both sides, while senior FOs at Comair couldn't make min guarantee working four 4-day trips because the trips weren't worth enough.

I think everyone wants to see Delta flying performed solely by Delta pilots, but only you guys have the power to fight that fight. Good luck!

I'd have to host the chart, which would reveal my identity, but here's an older study which was done long before mainline pay got cut and before your longevity went nearly as long as it is now. The data still proves the point: (jumpt to page 45, or so)

http://dspace.mit.edu/bitstream/hand...exm-thesis.pdf

Conclusion ... pilot pay differentials are not sufficient to buy airplanes or justify regional airlines' existence.

... and I completely agree about the total and absolute mess Delta made of Comair. Somehow everyone seemed to forget that Comair is a Delta asset and part of our bottom line. As some of our pilots would cheer any harm that came to Comair, a few of us realized it would result in harm to our Company & less money in our profit sharing checks.

ALCON,

Much obliged for all the responses. ACL, I have an Otterbox cover for my Iphone, and it has "saved my bacon" more than once already. :)

Thanks again,

GJ

Wrong.

The best thing we could do for them is help them get jobs where their longevity in the brand is a career, not a regional flavor of the day.

We have the same interest.

He was making his point based upon pilot cost per passenger carried. Not per hour or leg flown.

Language Advisory (jeesh, even the link gets sensored) ... never mind then.

So I wound up living Maverick's nightmare... flying rubber dog doo out of Hong Kong.

Oh? What squadron and when, if you can tell. CVG and I flew 'The Mighty Herk' for the Navy, in Hawaii...and didn't have a penny to show for it. :D:D:D

The last I heard DFW was going to be four flights a day two E jets and two mainline. The list posted only shows one frequency each so this may just be the initial load on the initial slots. You guys do remember that this stuff is in two phases.

I sure hope so!!! And quickly too!

Agreed.

Like I said, if enough pilots are paying attention, this may be what we need to get enough pilots to make scope and fixing it the number 1 priority.

Enough pilots paying attention has nothing to do with it. DALPA/ALPA/management disagrees with you. DALPA/ALPA/management is convinced that RJ's are good for Delta. Here's what YOU need to pay attention to: 1. Voting NO on the TA when it comes out with either more scope sales or status quo scope. 2. Voting NO on the TA when DALPA tells you that this is the best you're going to get and that if you vote NO, we'll have to start all over from the beginning with a new team because the MEC and its committees will resign. 3. Sending the new team back to the table with the mandate of reversing scope. 4. Ignore people who will be screaming that we should take what we can get NOW because of the time value of money.
