That's a good point.

It's either 0 out of 6, 2 out of 6, 4 out of 6 or 6 out of 6.

There are many that do care and they were just as irked as you are. Many of them did something and got involved. Some things they could change, other things they realized that their interpretation of things was off, and others they realized they were in the minority on, but continued to work to change things.

I agree that I am not paid enough, that I want DAL to want to do its own flying, that we need to force the issue in section 1 of our PWA, etc, what I disagree with is that airing that on a web board is where it needs to stop. (Same goes for sending in a card) If you really want change and want what you demand, get involved in DALPA, or volunteer your time to get them off property.
4,100 of us are doing just that.

No Carl, a card does not suffice as volunteering your time.

Another misdirection. You have to do ALPA work to really understand all the nuances and complexities.

And our union has proven its ability to do that how?

You may have faith in our contract, lawyers, and DALPA's spine, but based on precedent, I do not.

See also "Delta Connection" paint discussion in a parallel thread.
Exactly right.

Wanna bet. I admit I had misconceived ideas about how it really went down. ALPA has issues, but lawyers and negotiators scheming against its pilots is not one of them.

I don't think they intentionally scheme against pilots. They get wound up so deeply in their own self righteousness and so called knowledge that they end up in some little sub world that totally misses the real world ramifications of their actions.

Because ALPA is your bargaining agent. That is the ONLY reason.

And then we have examples like the RAH thing and the Delta Connection paint thing. Symptoms of a problem that I don't see how one can deny.
