By the way, what's a METAR?

Is that the weather you get when the stupid stone age airport you're flying to doesn't have digital ATIS?

I select NW REQUESTS on the ACARS and then WEATHER and select HOURLY WX. What comes out I believe is a METAR.

I don't know why this "Neil Whalerson" needs me to request the weather from him. I can only assume that's what "NW" means.

I think it's part of training for a perceived future role.

Default PCS question

Have anybody noticed whenever you try to swap reserve days off for next month, you get the "date entered not in bid period"? I'm just swapping days off from front end to the back end, and i keep getting this error, and i'm not doing anything creative.

It's cuz you didn't use the little drop down selector to change from December to January before you go in to the template.

Hi,
I've read all the guides and scheduling papers and "Help" docs I can find... no joy.
Can anyone tell me the ORDER that the PCS applies SWAPS, DROPS, and WHITE SLIPS?

For instance, if I have a swap in, but want to back it up with a drop also to be sure I lose a trip if I don't get the swap, will the drop go through first and thus make the swap not happen? I guess I could do a drop and then also do a white slip, if I'm sure I wanted to drop a trip....
Anyways, in order to figure out each month how I want to bid PCS, I need to know the order these three are programmed, can anyone help?
Thanks!
