Apparently the Hooters Hotel and Casino is getting ready to file. As a result their rooms are rock bottom low. My brother got a nice room for 20 a night for a few night in Jan.

I'm not sure my wife would go for the Hooters. Its our anniversary.;)

If you don't need to stay on the strip, I stayed at Silverton Casino when I visited my brother (I was there to go hiking). Nothing spectacular, but it was a nice clean hotel room. Got 3 nights and a car for 260 on travelocity. They have an hourly shuttle to the strip or you can drive (it's 5 minutes). It was a nice change of pace.

Thanks Blue Moon. We'd like to stay close to the Strip. Does anyone know what our layover hotel is asking?

Hey bros,

anybody got any good gouge on hotel deals in Las Vegas? I've been looking over the DeltaPerks stuff and it really doesn't look like there's anything there worthwhile.

Thanks,

I Highly suggest going to the MGM website and signing up for the email offers. You should be able to sign up for a lot of hotels from MGMs website since they own most of them. The email deals I get are far better than what I can find elsewhere. It especially works if you have time to wait for good deals to come your way (I usually get a few emails a month). Most of them are cancellable, so I will book one I like until a better deal comes along and then cancel that one and book the new one. Mandalay Bay is nice, but sometimes expensive, MGM is nice and usually fairly affordable, I hear Mirage is really nice too, but haven't stayed there.

Recurrent/CD sim training is paid at 3.15 per day. Yes a min day is 5.15 and ins get paid 5, but you only get paid 3:15 per day Enjoy.

The benefit now is that those training days do not take away from your avail days on reserve and as a result do not reduce the amount of off days by one in a recurrent month.

Well, the guy I'm flying with right now put down "10 percent at signing and 3% YOY" on the contract survey but feels like he was "shooting for the moon." (direct quote). If that's the mentality we're dealing with, we'll never even get close to fixing the training paycut issue.

Ok, maybe I missed this conversation in the midst of the underboob moderation drama, but what the hell happened to the vacation allocations this year? This is the first time in 5 years I haven't gotten the week of Sept 1st off.

Grrr...

My vacation was further down my bid from last year even though I am slightly more senior in category this year. The worst part is that the allocation was completely arbitrary, since I bid MEM 320B, a category that does not even exist by the time the vacation year gets going.

You can have my worthless week after Thanksgiving if you want Nu. Apparently, they decided to move Thanksgiving this year and didn't tell some of us.

Great idea Brocc. Thanks. I'll do it.

Well, it's 6.66% per year for 1000 years, but the company has the option to take it all in one bulk payment on date of signing.
