I've meant many pilots with this attitude. I'm surprised at how many are content where we are at. I personally need a 50 percent raise to be put on par w2 wise with the Southwest pilots hired the same time as me. I know that's not going to happen. I'm guessing we're going go sign a contract giving us a 5 percent raise per year for 4 years.

Hey bros,

anybody got any good gouge on hotel deals in Las Vegas? I've been looking over the DeltaPerks stuff and it really doesn't look like there's anything there worthwhile.

Thanks,
Buzz

The Trump Hotel is very nice. One block off the strip. Reasonable prices but does not have a casino if that matters. Steve Wynn doesn't like "The Donald" and he runs the strip.

That may be what ALPA negotiates for us, but talking to the guys I fly with, that would not remotely pass a vote.

Thanks Blue Moon. We'd like to stay close to the Strip. Does anyone know what our layover hotel is asking?

Check your PMs.

The recurring theme of the minimum acceptable from those I fly with is:

SWA rates adjusted for aircraft size AND significant improvements to our Swiss cheese inspired scope/JV clauses along with improvements to vacation, sick leave, retirement and training.

Lately, a few of the guys I have flown with seem to be much more concerned with the company's financial well being than gaining significant improvements. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be shocked if the contract survey results overall were "give me 10% and I'll be happy."

While I was checking the weather map enroute to MSP the other day, I came across this:

The new year brings newly redone rooms at top Vegas resorts - USATODAY.com

It talks about some $89 dollar rooms at the newly renovated MGM Grand and $200 renovated rooms at Bellagio.

And no, I didn't buy the paper!

Anyway, I don't think this is anything worse than what some athletic, good looking lady next to you in the middle seat might have on the cover of her issue of Allure, Shape, or Cosmo. But if those magazine covers offend you and you feel a need to slam shut your laptop because these pictures are too much for you to handle then this site may be of some help.

Abiding by the following guidelines will make everyone's experience of the forums more enjoyable. We're all here primarily to discuss the piloting profession; we all share in the good and the bad that this industry has to offer. Please use the "good neighbor" policy when posting to this site. If you wouldn't say it to your neighbor face to face, than don't say it here (and we are talking about a hypothetical neighbor that you like and respect, not necessarily your current neighbor).

Topics Not for Discussion

There are currently NO forums that provide a venue for discussing politics or religion. While DreamLaunch Media Ltd. and Airline Pilot Central embrace the diversity the world has to offer, these subjects often are very emotional and there are many different views. In our experience the wide range of views and emotions rarely contribute to a harmonious online community or beneficial contributions to the piloting profession.

NO nudity or links to nudity is allowed, male or female. If you’re looking for porn, this is NOT the place. User avatars or usernames with image content or suggestive phrases may be removed at the sole discretion of the site administrators.

Security

Any post that in the opinion of the site Administrators and Moderators poses a risk to security at ANY level will be removed without question. Loose lips sink ships.

My "disrespect" was making the following point:
  • This is a forum. People come here for the content. The web site does not create content. Posters add the content. Posters are not only the "customers" they add the value this site uses to sell advertising.
  • The debate on whether over boob, under boob, side boob, or oblique boob really emphasizes just how subjective "offensive" truly is.
  • Posters put work into their posts, even silly posts. Deleting someone else's work is offensive, and
  • Generally, I am against censorship.
  • No one is compelled to come to APC. Obviously, if it ceases to be fun, no one will come here. Randomly deleting posts isn't "fun" in my book.
SOPA could be the end of this place anyway. Posting of copyright material could result in liability against the web site owner & Admin. If current verbiage becomes law, then every post will have to be moderated before it is posted. Even much larger forum sites in the 100 million in revenue range (large, but not huge) have stated the law would force them to turn off their boards.

At a min, and that is what ER A's are saying.

Buzz,

I got a super great deal at the Tropicana last year via Hotwire. Recommend you give you Hotwire a try. Especially if you are going mid-week.

Have fun.
