It's not like the hooters girls are in your actual hotel room...... (not that there's anything wrong with that!)

  • This is a forum. People come here for the content. The web site does not create content. Posters add the content. Posters are not only the "customers" they add the value this site uses to sell advertising.
  • The debate on whether over boob, under boob, side boob, or oblique boob really emphasizes just how subjective "offensive" truly is.
  • Posters put work into their posts, even silly posts. Deleting someone else's work is offensive, and
  • Generally, I am against censorship.
  • No one is compelled to come to APC. Obviously, if it ceases to be fun, no one will come here. Randomly deleting posts isn't "fun" in my book.
SOPA could be the end of this place anyway. Posting of copyright material could result in liability against the web site owner & Admin. If current verbiage becomes law, then every post will have to be moderated before it is posted. Even much larger forum sites in the 100 million in revenue range (large, but not huge) have stated the law would force them to turn off their boards.

Bar,

Thanks for posting, and I read every word of it.

That said, I still like underboob.

Oblique boob sounds fun too, unless oblique means some kind of artsy French boob, or those nasty back boobs from Peopleofwalmart.

Bar, did you PM them? I posted something similar to what you did and never heard a word from these guys. I guess we should be happy we weren't banned for asking. For the record, I posted no pictures:D

I never posted any "offensive" pictures either. I got a rude PM out of the blue by CleeIB, who claims to be the Admin, for something that was not a violation of the TOS. He cited TOS that did not and do not exist to the best of my knowledge.

After a fueled debate back and forth in the Mod world, the rule is PG-13 as the TOS says. Some are irked and our juvenile behavior others are silent. At the end of the day, the leaders of this board like what this thread has become, but want it to remain within the TOS. Part of the TOS is any MOD or Admin can modify or delete posts period. They can also had our infractions as they see fit.

In the end the three DAL mods will continue to do what we do on the predominately DAL threads. I suspect that we will all see a little more discretion among all parties.

The Super Admin picked a fight.

His customers are angry and want an apology.

Who is they? I am a Mod, 80 is a Mod, and Johnso is a Mod. You had one person, who in fact is the Super Admin of the site for Internet Brands send you a PM. I suggest responding to them directly and get it cleared up. There was some back and forth on the Mod boards about this over the last few days, but as I posted above, it has calmed down. Send a PM back to their person for some clarification. As I understand it, "respect" is not a TOS requirement, but is implied in the desire for professionalism across the board.

In the end, this is just the internet. :D

Wow.....CleeIB isn't a name I recognize from any thread. I'm feeling like a guy attacking the pillbox who had a bud next to him get hit. Overall, I think they were a little heavy handed but I'm glad we had OUR mods sticking up for us.

Thanks ACL, 80 & Johnso

What's the difference between an Admin and a Mod?

I guess I see their point, but as Bar says, we are their customers and I never got the feeling from anyone (except you guys) that they cared if their #1 thread died.

Thanks ACL, 80 & Johnso

Just understand that we have always Moded to what we believed the TOS was, and is. PG-13 is where we though the line was. Of course there are a few pics that we all miss, and I mean that. As 80 states, they generally get buried in the traffic on this thread very quickly. This whole thing was debated again like it is every year.

The three DAL mods look at content and try to keep the posts flowing. We really do a good job of correcting each other, and have built a great little thread here. We all have on some level become friends, and that is a testament to our pilot group. We can disagree but overall are fairly respectful. For those reasons we do not see a lot of outside moderation, but as with this case, someone saw something and moderated it. It has been debated to death. No one got banned, and cooler heads seem to have prevailed.

That said, the Super Admin is the Internet Brands site administrator and he/she has overall control over this site for Internet Brands. I will state again, send a PM to them, and,I suspect, as I have found out, a dialogue via PM will resolve the issues that need resolving.
