fixed it for ya. Halloween is the biggest for FAs.

I was told for the F/A's it was MLK day...only because they always forget to bid it off, and the schools are closed, so they have to stay home with their kids! But I was told that many years ago, those kids are all grown up and gone by now, and we still have the same F/A's.

Thank God there's not a Cat Holiday...yet!

That's funny Timbo. It may be coming!

Question for you scheduling gurus: when requesting a PCS PD, why would the availability display show 1 or 2 over required if you were denied the PD?

Then I will definitely be flying that day. Maybe the captain & I can watch the Super Bowl during a layover. Haven't had any redeyes on the -88 yet, knock on wood...had several on the airbus.

New,

What I fear though is that a bucket system with a high threshold to bucket 2 will in essence allow a senior pilot to fly 0 times that month while a pilot that is 1 number junior to fly 60+ hours all for the same amount of money.

In order for that to happen, doesn't the junior pilot have to WANT to fly 60 hours?

Either way, I think there is a certain percentage of pilots in each category who are on reserve who WANT to fly. So, when trips come up, they will grab them.

We'll see how it shakes out. But, in the long run, if we develop a reserve system that honors seniority, more senior pilots will bid reserve. Which is fine by me. :)

Might be you're trying to drop too close. I think it's 72 hours.

No, it's next month. I've got a call in to DALPA.

Superbowl?

Analyst estimates for DAL are 35 cents per share and $1.33 per share for the 4th quarter and calendar year respectively...equalling $290 million and $1.1 billion for the quarter/year.

What is the reason it says for not getting the PD? Can't remember which one but one of the PF keys will allow you to see the reason.

Alot of times, in the process of running the PCS, your category will drop below the required during the run when it comes to your turn but will end up with more by the end of the run.
