Can someone please answer this question..... If I am supposed to start training in mid March (for a mandatory displacement), and I bid and am awarded vacation over when I would be (but have not yet been officially assigned) training, what would happen? Would they put my training around it, delay my training, or cancel my vacation and make me re-bid?

Does anyone know if there is a bus from the ATL training center to the airport?

The local hotels that have contracts with DAL make airport runs about every 1/2 hour. Sometimes they check to see if you're staying with them, but usually not.

If you were an MD, you won't have to rebid. If this is an AE, you have to rebid by the beginning of the month prior to your conversion.

If you are keeping the vacation, they will work around it. I have the same problem for Mar and got an MD so when I spoke to the vacation guru, she said it's training's problem to work around. If for some reason they can't, you'll get paid for the vacation on the April 15th check.

There is a GO bus that runs back and forth, I've taken it... by mistake :D

The main hotel shuttle will usually take you right to the airport. Much closer than the MSP training facility is to the airport.

There are also several other shuttle from the GO and parking areas to the terminal. I think you can find info on the DLNET and look on the drop downs for Atlanta Campus.

Having been in the same situation with a mandatory displacement, albiet many years ago(:)), you will not be awarded vacation that conflicts with when you are projected to go to training. Even if that training is not posted yet on your schedule or any where you can find it.

I should edit this post and say that the above is for bidding next years vacation bidding cycle. Which we are currently doing. If you have vacation that is already awarded for the current year's vacation (Apr 2010-Mar 2011) you will keep your current vacation and they will schedule training around it.

How many reserve days can you wipe out with your yearly drop? Can you wipe out an entire stretch of 9 days of reserve? I'm guessing no but can't find anywhere where it says what the limit is.

Oh ok, so if this is still the case I will not be awarded the vacation. I am hoping to be reinstated on the next AE before having to ever go to training on the DC9. I thought maybe if I bid early april they would push my training back further, and I would then have a better shot.
