The northeast, except NH, is a ripoff. I'd gladly live in a flyover state and keep my money. Live out west now and would never go back. I noticed no one mentioned living in Montana or Utah. I completely understand why... No mountains or scenery at all, lots of a**holes, ridiculous taxes, the weather sucks, cost of living is obscene. You get the point. Don't even think of moving here. |

When it comes down to your last day of availability and SC, it should not make you any more likely to sit SC approaching and X day anymore than it does now. Schedulers are still going to use multi day pilots on SC all things being equal.. But even then, if the senior guy was able to get his short calls out of the way to not have one approaching an X day, is that a problem? Oh yeah, that can't happen because only junior pilots are going to get short calls (tic)
I think you are correct in your assertion that when things pick up the system will make more sense. As a junior guy I just hope that slow times are slow for everyone not just a few :) I think the use of YS'ing will be even more important now for the junior rsv pilots. |

Its brilliant for the next quarterly report but completely unsustainable for the long term and a horrible financial move in the long run. |

I grew up in Vermont...in a house built by one of ancestors over 200 years ago. Vermont used to be a staunchly conservative state. For example, former (Republican) Senator George Aiken once spent $17.00 on his re-election campaign, and most of that was return postage to his supporters. Now the state is a bastion of liberals...

I live minutes away from one of the more liberal cities in the country, yet I pay no state income tax, and most times, no state sales tax - and my property taxes are reasonable. Oh, and the city has more breewerys than any other in the country. But, of course, theres no mountains or scerery here either, and it rains 24/7/365 - so its a crappy place to live. To bad its no longer a DL pilot base.
Live in Vancouver.....buy everything in Portland. Just don't get caught buying a car in Portland and not registering it in Washington!!! The cops used to hang out on the 205 bridge when I was based there. Atlanta is cheap and I have cool neighbors. I don't really like it here though. My snowboards are just collecting dust. Anything in sight of the Rockies, Sierras, or Cascades is perfect. Heck, if I can see a volcano and ski on it I'm happy. The year they closed Mt. Baker to dig out the chair lifts was epic....1000 inches of snow!!! Left coast is the best coast. |

Love the Pacific Northwest and the SAN area. SFO is not too bad, but Southern LA is not for me. I would move to SEA tomorrow but the MRS is not quite there yet.
SEA is a great place to live........well maybe not for the last couple of days! Six inches of snow at my place yesterday and we are currently experiencing freezing rain. The airport now has one runway open and ALOT of cancelations. Glad I'm not flying until saturday!! Denny |
