Hmmm, I've got an idea to help keep the company afloat, lets all get our own type ratings for all of our upgrades. That should help keep us competitive.

Ouch, careful with this one. Lots of folks paid for their types to get previous aviation jobs. We don't want Delta to require a DC-9 or B-737 type just to get hired here, or worse for equipment changes. Nothing surprises me anymore in this career.

Management only needs one good idea to put all of us out of a job.

Not one shred of the middle of my post was intended as anything but BS.

One of the LEC Chairmen suggested that he had heard acceptable recommendations from line pilots in the range of 7% to C2K + inflation. I'm inclined toward the latter suggestion.

We won't see 15% for the opener. More like 5%-10% with 4-5% per year.

Great! If DALPA comes to membership with that...it will mark the end of their reign as the union representing DAL pilots!

It wasn't flamebait guys. I bet this is what ALPA comes to us with. It's up to the pilot group to vote it down.

I didn't think it was flamebait either. Based on what I've seen from DALPA insiders and ardent supporters over the past few years, I would be surprised if their opener was much more (if any) than what you stated. I really do hope I'm wrong about that. But I've seen nothing to indicate otherwise and plenty to make me expect that what you said is about right. Again, I REALLY hope I'm wrong!

I want to guess the company's opener- 3% YOY increase, 100 seat scope sale.

To which I say, who cares... what is our opener? That's what I care, and worry, about.

Glad to hear that Buzz. For all it's growing pain(s), it's turning out to be one great merger. Keep waving the flag on the left coast.
