Sorry about my phone ediing hack job, but ... what is no one else will pick up Pinnacle's flying for their agreed price? Delta has been trying to help them avoid this by increasing reimbursement rates as Pinnacle's costs rose.
My question is more pilot focused ... what happens to the guys we "promised" flow through agreements to if their airline ceases to exist? That is one reason I like seniority numbers better than flow through agreements. You can't trust management to keep (or even be able to keep) a promise in this industry. Leads me to the following question, if those things happen we are left with 141 200s and 41 900s all flying for delta, could that be a good opportunity at that point for Delta to repurchase a bankrupt regional carrier and basically absorb them over time through a flow type situation as they park 200's in an attempt to eliminate a regional carrier and bring more flying back into mainline? Its not me saying hey just buy us so that i get a mainline job, its more saying, if delta wants to park 200's, here is 141 of them right here and with the upcoming retirements as pilots retire, you retire 200's as well and bring those pilots onto a bigger plane (on probation for a year since they didnt have to interview) It would also make sense if they wanted to bring on the c series because that plane will pay less anyways. Ok i just woke up, but what if......... |
Quick question, are we entitled to crew meals when deadheading domestically?

No crew meals unless you're operating, it's scheduled longer than 5+30 and there is a meal for the first class passengers. Also, you get a meal if it's an international turn to say, Mexico or the islands, even if each leg is less than 5+30. |

Didn't know where to look....does anyone know if we can Yellow/Green slip while on vacation? Or can you get a Y/G that would take you into Vac? Lastly if Vac was awarded to a Res line and you already had that day off will you be paid for that Vac day?
Thanks All....Baja. |

Ftb,
I think you are leaving out an important part of the big picture that will have a noticeable impact and that is the buckets only count for guys with the same days of availability. I think this is going to have smoothing out effect to your concerns. Denny

I'd agree if we staffed weekends the same as weekdays, we don't anymore.
So on monday/tuesday those with 4-5 days of availability are the ones with weekends off. The bottom pilot there is around 50% so they're #1 on the RUO, give or take. It's how it is on the first week of the month but now it'll be like this for 3 weeks possibly longer. Now again all of this is negated with appropriate size buckets but if the buckets are large they're taking from senior pilots to give to the most senior pilots. We could change the mantra from you'll be senior one day to you just need to be #1. And now, I think the reserve system has been made even more complicated. All I wanted was a system with transparency and one to where I could make an educated guess as to when I was going to be used again. Period. Now, I have no idea what is going on. I'm sure I'll figure it out at some point. In my current category, I rarely fly on reserve. But I am swapping bases and keeping the same equipment. I just talked to a fella with the same seniority as me and he said he gets slammed dunked every month ... flying just under 70s each month. Whether I sit home or fly, I just want to know what to expect -- especially since I am a quasi-commuter (can sit home for LC, but definitely have to come in for SC). |

So I guess if you are senior on reserve it behooves you to put all your X days at the end of the month when you are more likely to be used.
