RB211 anybody?

Right out of the mouth of mtx. Asked if I knew of any new aircraft in our future. Gave him my best deer in the headlights look.

New vocabulary word: N3

Maybe it's a whisper to ALPA what the minimum should be the first year of the contract? You can go tell yourself that.

The company opener will be something on the order of a 2 to 4 percent raise with offsets in work rules to cover the cost. Anyone who thinks other wise is smoking some really good stuff.

Only money is not enough for my vote - we need work rule improvements (why do we watch CQ and only get 1 min of pay for 3 min of work, how can we spend 4 hours in the sim working our butts off and only get 3:15 of pay, and a bunch more). We shouldn't wait two more years JUST for pay - let's not get bought off again.

Absolutely! And we need to get paid a minimum per day. Why do I sit 35 hour layovers in MCO, or TPA, or DTW and get less money than I would flying? I'm working. Fly me and pay me. I bet the rotation guys and the schedulers would get a lot more efficient in their planning.;)

If that's so, that's sad. And ALPA better be PO'ed. I will be. Spare me the lecture.

And anyone who doesn't think that our response should be 100% in rates along with work rules improvements is smoking some out dated stuff. A zero cost contract is NOT in the cards this time.

AA is rejecting the leases of some 757's. Perhaps we may be picking those up? You know how RA likes used airplanes. Of course, we will have to fight Fed Ex for them.

I suspect no, American's oldest 757 was delivered in 1989. I would assume they are getting rid of the older ones.

The 757s we're getting rid of are the 1985-1990 vintage, so 1989 at the edge of that. Plus, they have RR engines, so it would be another engine type. Not that we don't have that here, but if we were only going to fly them for say, 5 more years, may not make economic sense. Also, I don't think they are getting rid of many, 10?
