Airline Pilot Central Forums - Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

That's reading into it wayyyy too much. If the company opens up with 4%, so be it.. they want a long negotiations process. Nothing to get in a tizzy over. If they open with something more reasonable then I will be pleasantly surprised.

DALPA isn't going to manage or lower your expectations that much... that's just a ridiculous analogy.

I think the point is that if Delta opens with 2-4%, it would be obvious that our fearless leader is lying about wanting to get a contract done this year.

I really don't think that's reading too much into anything. Everyone on here has their own ideas and opinions, that's fine. Delta will put lots of pressure on ALPA if they give a 2-4% opener. I'd be surprised if that wouldn't send in a wave of DPA cards. This will be an interesting year.

But DALPA's constant expecation-managment ("shaping the battlefield," if you will), in my opinion, is designed to do just that, and take the pressure off of them to deliver what we've demanded on the survey and to our reps.

Hey Clamp,
I certainly hope your right, but I've flown with two diffierent people within the administration and I been told that us seeing the opener is no certainty. THis has and is being debated.

As I told the last individual, if the rank and file have little to no information between the openers and the TA the MEC needs to be prepared for a restless pilot group.

If it's not made public, then it would be both a stupid move, and a deviation from past practice at DAL. Did you guys not see openers at NW?
