I missed half of the commercials because I kept having to go pee and get another beer! I've got to put a toilet and 'fridge in my TV room!
When my buddies from Europe complain about all the stoppage of play in "American Football" I remind them, American Football is just an excuse for us to eat nachos and drink beer all afternoon! We NEED commercials, so we can go get another beer from the kitchen!

A year ago I was taking a tour of out MEC Offices while in ATL for "P2P Training". While there we were introduced to a member of the negotiating committee. I don't remember his name but he was former North, I know most of the South guys.
Anyway, he said -we- (? who, ME?) ought to consider paying 100% of all retiree's heal care premiums. "That's why guys are flying past age 60, they don't want to pay extra for their insurance. If you guys want to move up, you need to entice them to leave."
I'm thinking he was referring to North guys who have a frozen DB plan, and still flying over age 60.
I don't know what mechanisim he was thinking of using for that, ie. negotiate it into Section 6 or via an assesment or something. Like that's going to happen!?!

I have a strong feeling many would agree with this type of assessment, I just think it should be reasonable and effective. Just sayin...
You still living up there? Hampton (and Hampton Beach in the summer) was were I grew up, but I did fly a C150 from Hampton down to Plum Island many times! I played a lot of hockey in that indoor rink in Newburyport too, and coached my little brother's team there as well. A good buddy of mine (retired DL guy) keeps his power boat at a marina in Newburyport, so in the summer I'll drop by to help him empty his refridgerator.
My Dad had season tickets to the Boston Patriots back in the 1970's, when they played at Harvard Stadium and they lost to...everyone! So I'm always amazed if they even make the playoffs!

No, I dont live there anymore. In fact, I haven't been back up there in years except layovers. I ordered my 97 heritage softtail classic new in europe and picked it up at the Hampton beach harley dealer to avoid sales taxes, but that was really the last time I was really up there.
Like any good carpetbagger, I came south and never left.
My brothers both went to UNH. My younger QBed at UNH. For HS, I went to NHS, my older brother went to Governor Dummer and my younger went to Phillips Exeter.
I remember when that hockey rink was being built. Its not new anymore, probably 40 years old. I grew up across the street from the "Lord Timothy Dexter Mansion." There were still "poor" kids when I was in school there. Played a lot of hockey on the "mall". As airline pilots, I am pretty sure most of us couldn't even afford to buy a house (or condo) in Newburyport anymore. Times have changed.
Best sub I ever ate was ferlitas in Nbpt. Probably not even there anymore. Mr K's was an ice cream place that would sell us kids "mistakes" for $.10 . As kids we'd head out on our bikes in the a.m., go all over the place and come back at dinnertime. Nobody thought that was child abuse back then. Good place to grow up.
Rodman smashed that stuff to pieces. Luckily she had UHC put that stuff all back together. Ewwww that's so nasty.
Not sure about the true utility of this technique, but I did find it an interesting read and something good to have in my hip pocket. BBar should enjoy it.

It is a true shame that Obama-care does not address the real issue.
The problem is that we do not do this business in an open and fair market. You've got one party in desperate need, without pricing information dealing with an enormous Corporation which lacks a body to incarcerate, or a soul to convict. UHC has had themselves exempted from the same laws which govern our conduct with one another.
There is so much low hanging fruit here:
In 2010 and 2011, UHC explained its results were better than anticipated because fewer "insureds" are seeking medical care.

There is so much low hanging fruit here:
- Why can't Doctors and Nurses have 50 State Reprocity, so they can practice where there is a need, like pilots do?
- Why can't Doctor's provide a menu of services and costs, just like a restaurant, so consumers can make decisions knowing the cost?
- Why do Doctors and Insurers get up to six weeks to tell you what you owe? What other business charges you weeks after you've made the decision?
- Why doesn't UHC have to show you it's contracts which cover you?
- Why doesn't UHC have to provide you with a copy of the policy which covers you?
- Why do anti collusion and anti competitive practice regulations apply to UHC?
Profits for the 10 largest U.S. insurance companies jumped 250% between 2000 and 2009 while millions of Americans have lost coverage, according to a report released Thursday by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The report found that the five biggest insurance companies -- WellPoint (WLP), Cigna (CI), UnitedHealth Group (UNH), Aetna (AET) and Humana (HUM) -- saw their profits increase 56% in 2009, a year in which 2.7 million people lost their private coverage. What's more, the report found that the companies combined earned a total of $12.2 billion last year. And lest we forget, on the executive compensation, CEOs of the top five received $24 million on average in 2008, the report said.

Does anybody else think our health insurance sucks? I have the gold plan. My 2 year old couldn't stop throwing up. Called doctor. Was told by my doctor to go to emergency room (doctor called hospital and told them I was coming). Plan doesn't cover any of it. I guess I'm supposed to ignore my doctor's orders and put my child's life at risk next time because our insurance does not cover emergency room visits at in-network hospitals at midnight (sarcasm). In all serious though, it's bullcrap.
Imagine if the politicians had to live within the system we do for health care? Things would be changed really quickly.... I wonder why Newt has not given up his pension or decided that Tri-Care should be available for all citizens of the USA? That is government health care right? Lobby and make deals with Health care corporations line your pockets and screw the rest..... Dems and Repubs all suck!
Oh yeah I guess next time I go to the ER with one of my boys it will be "no hablo lingish"
maybe I need my coffee?

A good response would have been that our union should consider negotiating to get the company to pay 100% of all retirees health care premiums until they turn 65.
