I loved the before start flow explanation. Very cool.

FTB,

You can get a lot more jug training right here. Skip to 2:45 if you don't want to watch the golf hooker parts.

I guess my goal of attaining significant improvements across the board, and being willing to fight for those improvements, is somehow at odds with your perverse view of a benevolent, God-like Delta, who, with DALPA at its right hand, will always take care of you.

Folks like you are why we'll never be able to negotiate the contract we want.

Wow! Talk about assumptions! I didn't ridicule you for any of those reasons. I ridiculed you because you constantly thump your chest and threaten ALPA with being voted out if they don't deliver to your standards. It's always "if ALPA doesn't come through with XXXX they can say bye-bye to their gravy train".....it's to the point where you're being tuned out by many. It's an ineffective way of communicating. Your words on this forum mean little. It's actions that matter.

I too wish for better health care, pay, and work rules. However, I choose to make my desires heard by participating in Council meetings, writing or calling my rep, and filling out surveys. BTW, you and I have nothing to do with our contract negotiations. You nor I will ever be the ones who will be the reason why we will never negotiate the contract we want. All we have is a YES or NO vote. Perhaps you should focus your energy on reading our union material(and DPA's as well if you wish) so that when the time comes, we will be educated on what is being presented to us. That way we will understand the TA and will be able to vote with knowledge, rather then emotion.

And they have not (yet) replaced the 747 Capts. that were displaced earlier. This March AE should be very telling, as it's meant to cover the summer schedule. Of course it may cary some other weight too, as in, a shot across the bow for Section 6 Openers, to be exchanged in April. Don't think they won't use it to gain some leverage for us to capitualte...something...to save further displacements.

I think the last AE was the one covering summer staffing. It is a 365 window, but all training is planned to be completed by May. I don't think a March AE will provide adequate time to staff summer flying.

Combine that with comments made by executives at the last airline investor conference, about further capacity reductions, there are pieces that could fit together.

One could infer that this was my own private idea, but honestly, I could careless. At least we aren't talking about the "F" word...

Most WB fleets are overstaffed right now as the WB's go through the cabin mods.

Correct and as they stated by 2014 we will not see as drastic of a winter pulldown. About 1/2 of what we see now. That said, they have about a three month window of opportunity to displace and train on lower jets before it costs more to do this than hire.

This being my third section 6, a displacement the month prior to openers does send a message, even if it is not intended.

All I know is, I'm glad I didn't spring for those ANR headphones.

The Mad Dog is quiet, right? Right?

Earlier the day it was mentioned that American's management had taken pay concessions off the table in their bankruptcy bargaining and was offering 1.5% pay raises. (American also proposed some really bad scope, which was effectively Delta scope with the limits at 86 seats and 255 large jets, or half mainline).

What has me a little confused is the idea of making 2bn in 2012 while cutting employees.

Again I ask: "What is our core business?" "Then why don't we invest in that?"

Bar,
Pilots think our core business is safely transporting passengers. Management thinks our core business is selling tickets. They are investing in what they perceive our core business is.

Im curious about how trip parking plays into it as well. Like selling your vacation I do think it's important to protect pilots from pilots.

Is that some kind of porn video? I mean I'll check it out... but that was my disclaimer, I asked.
