There is a third type: Airline pilots because high school was a long time ago and who gives a crap what happened then?

Seriously, should I stick my head in the sand and ignore reality? SW rates would require, what, a 30-40% raise? Do you really think that is going to happen right now. AA in BK, SW saying their costs are too high, UAL, US and other airlines well below our current rates, and you think we will get a TA with a 30-40% raise?

You forgot to mention the pilots that are paid better...UPS/FedEx and pretty much every foreign carrier.

I'm looking forward to my 30% or the contract gets a NO, ALPA gets a foot in the a$$ and DPA gets a YES.

Yep-I completely do. Seriously. Btw, there's always going to be some reason, excuse, or obstacle of the day ALPA will use.

Do you think a majority of Delta pilots will vote yes to a TA that's status quo at 5% a year? I think the secretive contract survey results will likely show an average of 30% for a yes vote. Does the company really want an unresolved labor dispute to go on for months or years? I think not. And it's been stated by many others here that contract jobs overseas may become more appealing if the propsed contract is weak. If the company can raise fares to account for billions in year over year fuel price increases, they could cover the $470M or so it would cost for a 30% pilot pay increase.

The short sleeve shirts... We used to have to wear the "horse blanket" all year round. Being able to shed that and be in short sleeves in the summer was necessary and pragmatic. Now that you don't have to wear the jacket unless it's winter, it makes sense to go back to long sleeves, which don't bunch up, are warmer, and look better when wearing the jacket. (In the winter!) Save the short sleeves for HNL and summer. I agree that the other airlines are looking like total slobs these days. The leather jacket, long hair, hush puppies, JC penny pants and polyester tie... lunch pail and cell phone belt clip--- better them than me!

Well I here I am sitting in the A concourse crew room when low and behold Anderson walks in with Ray Lahood. Not quit sure what those two are doing together on a rainy Sunday. The tee time must have been cancelled. Unfortunately Lahood corners me and sticks his hand out to to introduce himself. It took all my inner strength to hold back my personal feelings.. I figured in the interest of Delta pilots I should oblige. I did my part to smooth over the AA Latin America route acquisition.:p

LaHood was probably just there making sure his SWA child was not being harmed by the big bad Delta.

What is the order for an out of base WS. I was told the in base reserves get used first, but can't find it for some reason.

Yeah, no germs in India. I'd rather swab out the crewroom urinal with my tongue than fall down in the street there. He must wear a hazmat suit on his days off as he steps over the gutters filled with sewage.

<<<I had a Captain a few trips ago whose breakfast wasn't sitting too well so he had to make a sudden rush for the lav. I offered him my little travel size spray can of frebreeze and he smiled and said, "oh No, I wanna smell it up" He returned a few minutes later all proud of himself. But he wore his hat and had a nice clean pressed shirt.>>>

This reminds me of a recent charter when the lav firebell went off. FA banged on the door, homeboy just opened the door no shame doing his business. aerosol can set it off.

Kinda funny now, but you know how the fireball always kills the mood.
