It is my understanding that dedicated cargo ops; branded or otherwise, are not included in Bundle 1.

They also expect the 380 from a few other carriers like Air France and Emirates. As I stated, apparently Emirates has applied for a Alcohol license from the state of Georgia. If true this will start as a 777-300 then transition to a 380 when the loads improve. Apparently most of the US to DXB will be served by 380's.

Glad to hear you talking like that again, ACL. How does that fly with your MEC buddies?

But I'm also hearing a tone of resignation. Don't give up. This career can still be restored. It won't be easy... but nothing worthwhile ever is. We need to set restoration as our objective and then set out to achieve it with an unwavering commitment and resolve. Are you starting to figure out that the current predominant thinking in DALPA is not going down that road?

DAL88, as I have stated many times my stance has never changed. There is a time and a place for everything. I know the career and its earnings that I decided to embark on. I am sure it is the same one you did too. It is not the same. We dealt with the less than desirable items because of the pay and bennies. That has been taken away.

There is no resignation, only reality. Point about the guys looking overseas is important. It is not for a lack of desire to see this through. It is to show portability of this career where previously it has been limited. Pilots without DB plans have portability, and it is something that the airlines created. If they feel that many will complain but never leave, they should not be surprised by those leaving DAL currently, those leaving if the agreement is sub-par, those that take the job then leave for better options, or those that pass up DAL completely.

You are correct, the career can be restored but if it is not, portability exists and many are weighing their options.

As for the other inference of the MEC, ask them. I am just a pilot that volunteers my time for the benefit of our pilots. I am not a rep, but that does not mean I may not run some day.

You've got that right! We were still in bankruptcy when I hired on. I expect to be making significantly higher wages post bankruptcy.

We got a few coins to jingle in our pocket in the JCBA, but that is a long long way away from where we need to be.

Due to new Dutch laws the pension scheme has changed as of 01/01/2006. You now build up 1.95% of your total years pay (including your vacation pay and your end year bonus (set at 8%, for pilots employed before April, 2005). Variable between 4-12% depending on company performance for all new pilots, and older ones who have opted for the new scheme.

On top of this the company participates in the new "levensloop" saving scheme in order to allow the same pension total as before 01-01-2006. Pilots can opt for this or take the money (average of 6%) and invest or spend it themselves, this will result in a lower pension than before the new law took effect.

Also an additional 4 Fokker 100's are coming in the next year. And 8 more Boeing 737-800's have been ordered as replacements for Boeing 737-400's.

I agree. We can restore this profession if we all stand united. I really don't want to go down in history as another pilot group who caved in. What we lack is leadership. I wish the union leaders would sieze this opportunity and fight to restore our contracts.

An upcoming large number of retirements, increased minimums for airline First Officers and a weak regional industry... time is right. This is the time to get it back. We still have time.

I don't care wether it's ALPA or DPA representing us. But we need someone who will fight for us. ALPA is on very thin ice. Last year we had an opportunity to increase hiring minimums to 1500hrs for airline pilots cross the country. ALPA sided with RAA to bring the minimums down to 500hrs+. (CAPA supported a hard 1500hr floor). CAPA is getting ready to challenge the RLA. For ALPA, that is not a priority.

So this is ALPA's chance to redeem themselves to an extent. We lost some opportunities. If ALPA does not deliver this time, this will be their demise. Once 12,000 pilots from DAL leaves, it will fall like a deck of cards with UCAL likely exiting as well. We need strong leadership from DALPA... and we need to see it quick. We also need to see a change in direction, transparency and strategy from them. We need to know that they are fighting for us without a shadow of doubt. Once that is done, we can unite this pilot group and move forward.

Hey, if you want highly skilled people, you've got to pay them properly!

Oh wait...

if I am MSP based, and start training in MSP for my next position which is not in MSP, do I get per diem the whole time, or not because MSP is my previous base? When do they send you hotel accommodations? thanks
