Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Anyone know what NQAT means on the pbs calendar?
I'm scheduled for initial training (again) in late april and it shows me in my future category for bidding purposes. Does this mean I won't fly in my current category the whole month leading up to training?
I don't start training until the 24th of April. 3.5 weeks of vacation? I'm sure I'm missing something as usual.
I'm thinking maybe Non Qualified Awaiting Training??

Are we changing hotels in PHX ?
I was looking at the April bid packet, and it shows WILL ADVISE for all of the PHX layovers.

Back in the 90s, I flew (as a pax) on a Dash 8, BWI-DCA. Took a while too! That was only eclipsed in fun by the Shorts 360 I flew from JFK-ALB (AA Connection or Eagle). Blocked at almost 3 hours!
I'm sure it is a small project that took little time or energy. Maybe putting out a survey will appease a portion of our pilot group that want to change (fill in the blank) about the uniform. ALPA's listening.
My point was, there are many, many things which should take priority over changing a uniform which has served the pilot group just fine for the last 70 years. I hope ALPA listens just as attentively to our demands and concerns over the next year.

It shows NQAT for every day until the 24th (when training begins) and there is pre-award credit for the NQAT days and the training. Total credit for the month is 76-ish hours already, so it looks like my month is full without having to bid.
I'm gonna call and get the scoop tomorrow, just wondering if anyone had seen that code before.
I made the mistake of mentioning this to my wife, and she's already (within about an hour) decided that I will be remodeling the deck and garage.
Helpful hint: don't tell your wife that you may have extended time off or she will fill it for you. By the end of April she'll probably be guest-contributing to the angry-pilot-wife blog

Funny you should say that. The DCI carrier at which I work (I don't want to reveal too much, but it's the one whose primary hub is SLC...) used to display the company name proudly on the nose, in like 18 inch letters or something. Now, at the direction of Delta, I believe, the company name has been reduced to a barely visible sticker with the airplane equivalent of 10pt. font. The company branded headrest covers and signage at the rear of the cabin had to go as well. And mentioning "DCI operated by" in the PAs. I guess if the "seamless experience" is what DAL wants, then whatever. They're paying for it. But say what you will about SkyWest (oops, did I say SkyWest?), but I have no problem stating who is operating the flight and taking responsibility for it. Granted, we fly CRJ-200s, which suck, but that notwithstanding, I believe we generally provide a good product.
So yes, I agree, we should be allowed, if not required, to fly under our own colors. But let me reiterate, I want out and prefer to work at the mainline, and wish the outsourcing had never happened in the first place. But that was way before my time.

That brings up what many on here refuse to acknowledge. There is a time value to a contract....
There is a wild card to the entire contract issue. Things are happening in the industry and happening fast. It appears both the CEO, VP Flight ops and sleepy ED Bastion are all going to show this week for the MEC meeting. This is highly unusual. There is a distinct possibility we may not get to section 6 negotiations at all. I will leave that statement hanging out there. The next 6 months will be very interesting.

I'm all for the exact contract strategy you've laid out. Although, other MEC's and Representative bodies face the same issues we do. The risk with kicking the can down the road is that American, United or US Air, will give up more scope than they already have.
