Besides, we cannot base our negotiations on what might happen down the road.. well not completely anyway.. we'd be foolish to not at least consider that possibility.

Sorry about the A$$wipe thing.. I owe you a beer.. even though you started it.

I'm pretty sure they have the 73-9. I think its more than 10 and less than 15. They &itch about it frequently. V speeds are blistering, it doesn't like to stop. it can't climb above the weather and it can't climb very well when it's climbing.

The best one was, "Flying it is like trying to carry a long, heavy board. You grab it in the middle and try to balnace it, but when the nose starts to go down, it keeps going. You correct it and it takes off the the other way and the tail drops. Stop it, fix it. Repeat."

So, yeah they will lever that if(when) we hook up.

I would apologize for the "Boy Scouts" reference in regards to LCA, but that is just a common line term, so I won't.

Canteen Boy and Scout Master, it was funny if you ever saw it, but, I'll apologize for that.

Standing by the "penguin" label for Sailing though. It fits him perfectly.

I understand that a top pay does not work well for most pilots here, and I am one of them, but it also helps differentiate our jets when more jets come on property, or more jets from another airline.

Like "the manager" said, you put the 739 in the WB category or the 757 which would probably be seen as an equivalent, then you are looking at a many possible targets, and their seniority lists who may try to argue that they have WB expectations based upon our super simple pay scheme.

Like I have been trying to say with out saying it, you need to be careful what you wish for. I know that leaves less pay for guys like you, but at least it will help out when you want to keep you seat. All things matter in seniority integrations. I still expect to see us dealing with that in the no too distant future. Prefer growth, but our company and its investors want to consolidate.
Not "guys like you (me)" Guys like all of us... we all make less over the course of our careers under the current pay scheme, and have to choose between QOL and $. Pitiful. QOL should trump $ because the $ should be there regardless of where you go.

Most of us deliberate with our friends, peers, coworkers about the merits of a contract and I believe that we can come to a logical conclusion. Just as we are not all lemmings that will willingly go down the path of "we must give concessions or status quo", we are not all lemmings that will follow the endless path of full restoration plus cola. Reality is somewhere in between these two positions.
That's your opinion and you're certainly entitled to it. But you completely ignored my main point. You previously stated that openers are shown to the members when it's felt that DALPA needs the support of its members. I agreed with you and asked you to think about what it means now that DALPA will not be showing us the opener. Here is my post again:

...Exactly correct! That's precisely why you release the opener to your members. You're going to need their support when it comes to crunch time. Do you realize what it means when DALPA doesn't release it this time? Do you understand that it means either DALPA doesn't care about us supporting their negotiating goals, or they know we wouldn't if we found out what they were?

Again, using the logic of your own previous statement: What does this decision by DALPA say about their view of the value of our support?

Somebody else corrected my misperception about the AK 739s. I really don't care about what they have at this point though. I just want to see our mess cleaned up.

Not sure what a penguin is, but he is not management, unless something has changed in recent months.. which I doubt.

Not so fast my friend.........at my new base the LCAs pictures are in a fancy display case, just below the picture of the Chief Pilot

But those pictures include "Fang" (I know you know who that is) and he's definitely not management.

It is a religion to them.
It's not just a religion to management, our bargaining agent also agrees. Our union's president strongly believes that RJ's are good for majors.

Just sayin.
