I guess some agents don't know how to look but you can see if they are in fact misconnects or if they simply checked in early. I also believe that if they get to a nonrev that doesn't answer simply call the name 2x and then move on.

As a crew member though I really try to stay on top of the seating situation and if the seats are tight with nonrevs, check and make sure we put them all on. If the agent wants to put the delay on me for the extra 2 or 3 minutes to put the nonrevs on then fine.

If it was his/her family they would likely appreciate my determination. I nonrev quite a bit and therefore try to take care of them as I would my own family.

No this coming out of MCO. So I doubt there were connections. This is off a buddy pass that I was watching over. They assigned 25 nonrevs, then took 8 back and assigned a few more after the fact so I guess they let some on but it still went with 1 open seat. all of this D-10 and inside. That's a lot of unnecessary work for gate agents with no time to spare.

It happened to me not long ago out of PHF. The flight was full and there was a family of 4 on the nonrev list ahead of us that never showed but showed up on the airport list way early. At first it was doubtful we'd get on and then that family actually got 4 seats together and we ended up being split up 1, 1, 1 and 1. Not good when two of those are under 3. The gate agent worked the crowd to see if they could get 2 and 2 together which we did. But as we're sitting on the plane I notice this empty row and sure enough the door shuts, people get up and move into it (CRJ900) and I'm thinking, this checking in at home is not a good thing.

I'd prefer as x150 said, go back to nonrevs check in on kiosks only.

It is spring break. Flying is crazy this time of year. Many nonrevs probably did not even make their first flight and were waiting for the next one. If it is was out of a city that does not have hourly service, the gate agents in that city may not have rolled them yet, and as a result they are showing in ATL and able to make the connection, when if fact they never got on their first flight.

The rolling over of the standby list is a manual process and I have watched it after missing a flight. I have seen them no complete the rollover until 30 min before the departure of the next flight.
Just sayin..... The reason my in fact not be the nonrevs fault.

We need to protect this benefit and blaming nonrevs is not the way to do it without the entire story.

Never said the airplane itself was profitable. All I said is that it is not yet "dead".

Ha. Okay. I agree. APC is off too. There aren't 850+ 50 seat rj's flying around for US legacy operators. More like 100, and they just follow me everywhere i go. New fangled crowdsourcing wiki technology, can't trust that gee-wiz stuff! And its not fox news, so it must be wrong! That dang Anonymous guy must be making up fleet numbers and editing 15 different airline wikipedia pages again.

That APC updater guy needs to update his numbers too, hey you're a moderator drop him a line! Tell the guy there aren't 850 50 seaters.

Your posts used to be somewhat insightful, and even useful.

For whatever reason, you've degenerated into name-calling and personal attacks without regard for the validity of many widely held opinions you so vehemently object to. Your credibility is shot.

But don't let that stop you from flaunting your arrogance.

TSquare--a legend in his own mind.

This may be the most ironic post I have ever seen. Are you a narcissist or something?
Jeesh, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Can we check in with the delta app now? I just got an iphone last week. I was able to find my listing on the app by entereing my record locator. It automatically showed my assigned seat when they cleared standbys.

Seriously??? Management has been saying this since 2000. As a matter of fact management says this while they are walking into a meeting to order more RJs.

I hope its true - and some smaller RJs may be leaving but just look at what is actually happening (LGA Expansion) before believing anything management has said or supposedly says.

The 717 rumor is back, and being floated by some people.

It will never happen. Just more 100 seat wishful thinking. They don't want 100 seaters. If they did, they'd already have them. Just like cargo.

When your primary business is making stuff, you go out and buy the stuff that you need to make stuff. You then announce "hey everyone! We make stuff! Come buy it!" That's how you eventually put cash in the till. If you are the people who actually make it, it's pretty much the only way to go.

On the other hand, when your primary business is getting other people to make stuff, you go out and get other people to make stuff, and then announce "hey everyone, we have other people making stuff, which we sell! Come buy it!", and the people who actually make the stuff announce "hey everyone! We are making stuff for XYZ, so we're buying the stuff that makes it!"

Which cateogry do we fall into?

The A330 DTW and SEA bidding has been extended until 0800 of the 16th. Guess there is a problem with the bid package regarding RSV blocks of days off.
