Anyone here think there will be ATL based DC9 pilots by May 1st?

Can a lineholder pilot pick up a trip out of base?

Say a pilot is based in DTW on 7er and really wants once in a while go to Madrid, where he has parents serving a religious mission.
How can he pick up a 7er MAD trip out of JFK?

1. GS out of base - is self explanatory, but very rare.
2. White slip? ... never mind I see it is possible on PCS ...
3. Take it (if advertised) from swap board?
4. Swap with the pot?

Thank you.
You would have to be reeeeeeeeeeally lucky to get an OOB W/S to Europe. Those trips aren't in open time for much more than the half life of a true political statement. You will have better luck non-revving over and crashing on their couch.

1 & 2 are possible, however highly unlikely. Can't do 3 or 4. Swap board stuff only works in base.

Good question! I would think if enough follow the airplane, there very well could be. If they have to do a lot of training, then all bets are off..

I bet they move some that are already qualified from other bases that might be awarded it. They said they want to spool down MSP 9 asap and the AE awards could be in training or converted by April 1st. However I guess it depends how many ppl bid it from other categories too.

I'm hoping to get it by June 1st. May is almost all vacation for me so don't care so much about it

Ok so not "dead" but definitely dead soon. By the way do you know the fuel flow increase of a CRJ-200 to increase from 250KCAS to 320KCAS?

Or what speed approximates Cost Index 10?

Or what climb profile is most economical in terms of time?

On a CRJ-200.

Hint - do you know what aircraft the CRJ-200 was designed to replace? And do you know what aircraft it did replace? And do you now understand why it's dead?

I have no clue personally the answer to those questions, but would find them interesting.. Can you post them?
