Kind of underwhelming...
A company can't do any analysis or impact without something real..."improve" is like "hope"; it's not a strategy. If you don't set a goal you'll be sure to achieve it. |

Super,
It is in there about paying reserves the same as lineholders, page 5 Section 12. Eliminate reserve look back for duty period average. This is what makes rotations worth less then for reserves. |

I'll have a follow up on March 15th... at around 12:05pm. |

It's not in there. Scope was my number 1 issue, this is my second (it's not even in there), and pay is my third issue. This opener is exactly what I expected. A huge disappointment. Carl was right. I'll summarize the opener.
Section 1 - improve Section 2 - improve Section 3 - improve Section 4 - improve Section 5 - improve ... Section 23 - stay about the same, keep screwing the reserves. Sad thing is I just provided about as much detail as ALPA did. I truly believe ALPA needs to go. They are going to get this wrong. Anyone with common sense can see it. HOCKEY, I am not exactly blown away by this opener - but it is exactly what I expected - very general and nonspecific by design. But as far as reserves go it actually says: Increase reserve guarantee and from section 12 The Delta pilots propose the following improvements: • One hour report for domestic DH • Change Duty Period Average to Calendar Day Average o Apply to both regular and reserve pilots o Eliminate reserve look back Duty Period Average • Increase number of reserve X-days So I think its fair to say that reserves got as much as generic "Lets make it better," as the rest of the contract. Someone on the DALPA forum said it best: "If I were the company, my response would be, OK, get back to me when you have some concrete numbers."

I'm pretty sure the company has the numbers. Its just us who are in the dark. I'm okay with that for now. What I won't be okay with is a weak result....I'm giving ALPA the benefit of the doubt this time and hoping for the best. If they don't deliver, then I'll be looking for new representation.
BTW, MSP MD-88B sucks...NYC MD-88B rocks! |

Scoop It's just a generic improve all aspects of the contract though. At least ALPA can see that every single section of our contract needs improvements I guess. I can see the negotiations now. ALPA: We want industry leading wages. Richard: I'm prepared to pay you industry standard wages. ALPA: That's what we're making now. Richard: Exactly. You know what, let's meet in the middle. How's a 5 percent raise per year sound? |

Any MSPDC9B's care to share where they are going and where they sit seniority wise? |
Completely underwhelmed. Hope TC sprung for the large sized POBox cause he is gonna need it.
I'm going to restate my earlier analogy. We started out with widshear warnings. Set out for our TO roll, and just at v1 got airspeed stagnation. Now we are waiting for the last thousand feet or so with firewall power. DALPA better not mess this one up now. They are more than committed and they better deliver. We all know what happens to them if they fail. |
