Heyas Xray,
While I do agree with you, in AT's case, their fragmentation language included "ghost transactions" such as what you describe. |

I did 7 pallets last summer in about 4 hours with 2 helpers. It goes down really easy if you have the soil graded and prepped ahead of time, if not, better rent a roller to get it even afterwards - especially if you're kids will be running wild out there. If not, count on some twisted ankles. Btw - if it's not already pretty flat it is an art to grade with a bobcat. Make sure to leave yourself plenty of time for grading, as it makes the rest of it go smoother.
I'm sure you've done the research, but I got mine delivered by Supersod in the ATL area. Cheapest I found and it was great sod. I used Zenith Zoysia and it came back in perfect shape this spring. It makes a nice strong lawn that my circus (2 kids and 2 energetic bird dogs) haven't been able to destroy yet. One final tip: make sure you don't lay it all out in straight lines. Try to vary your pattern up a little bit or you will end up with gaps (no matter how close you lay it) ie don't lay all the strips parallel to one another. It will look much nicer when you're done. Nothing like the satisfaction of saving a few grand and being able to say you did it yourself. Now back to your regularly scheduled L&G rumormill :D |

First of all, I doubt their language is tight enough to force Boeing to force the next lessor to take AT pilots with the aircraft. Second, the 717s will be replaced, maybe not on a 1 for 1 basis, but there is no way SW gets rid of that much capacity without a replacement. Last, I don't see any possibility that someone takes those aircraft if it means the pilots come with them. Boeing and Southwest know that.
They are all LUV pilots now and the 717's do not trigger their fragmentation language. They have stated that they will keep their employees if they get rid of the jets. I would wait and see if there is a deal and the details of that deal before we worry about it. Nu likes to get ppl's blood pressure up now and then, and he is really good at it. Fact is a month ago he was saying that there is no way we would get those jets. :D Now who's getting those Saudia MD-90's that are going to AZ? |

How could it possibly be that tight, it wasn't written by the best and brightest legal minds in the aviation universe...ALPA legal... Couldn't help myself, I'm a tool. |
About this walk around thing, over a year or so ago I flew with a guy who started out his brief saying "I'll get all of the walkarounds rain or shine."
Say again? All of them? Yep! http://130.18.140.19/mmsoc/subliminal/marlboro.jpg :D And he was the only dude I've ever seen that could pull off the PA in person. Reserved it for a major engine problem we had that caused us to taxi back and delay three hours. Some people know how to do it. |

The deal has to be right for the 717s to come over... and the cost is too high right now. "Assumption" of those leases will come at a cost (and not to Delta) watch how it unfolds....

Ya'll help me with my math that's 1:4.7 ratio? Seems pretty good to me. |

I tried that, but to pay someone 3K bucks to lay sod is just insane. I can get the whole thing done in two days, or about 20 hrs of work. Plus, it will keep me off of here.
