They're going to change the regs to allow an extra 50,000 cycles. New manufacturers will come up with early out incentives for them but they'll never leave.

BR700 Series engines are used on Global Express and GV family, the new G650 also has BR700 family engines. Those jets are very dependent on the most efficient engine to gain maximum range...

Do you thing Gulfstream and Bombardier would both pick a fuel-inefficient unreliable motor for their top of the line business jets?

The BR715 has the largest fan diameter of the Br700 family with 58"
It is at least as efficient as the CFM56 or V2500 in the A319, with a smaller core and a higher bypass ratio probably more so...

Cheers
George
George, you and your 717. Are you making PMA parts in the garage? If you're going to keep making a case for that, I'm going to make a case for this 100 seat jet:

  • Available used with low cycle counts
  • Cheapest APU in the industry
  • Lower block times for equivalent trips
  • Low traffic density at FL 550
  • nearly as fast as Southwest
  • Absorbs more excess pilots as Delta outsources work
  • Lots of redundant fuel tanks
  • Positive corporate image
  • SO gets to turn on the "reheats"
  • Cheap parts - (we'll have to make them at the TOC)

Left two out:

Solves mythical "no 100 seater" problem.
Can do Transatlantic turns.

Anyway, T can pipe in with anything new but Delta has at least attempted to put some guidance out. NWA was just it's there but please dont use it.

You are correct. I just did GUM-NGO.

Ali Velshi is on CNN reporting on a Birdstrike to the right engine on his Delta flight today, a 757 on T/O out of JFK (to LAX), they returned to an uneventful landing.

He did give a 'Nice Job" to the Crew.

Film at 11...supposedly some clown in First Class was filming it with his iPad. (instad of having all electronic devices turned off, see what happens if you don't turn them off?? They attract Seagulls!)

According to the latest lca in the know. The 739 was chosen over the 321 for numerous reasons. It won't do what a 757 will, but neither will the 739. Kind of a prettiest pup in an ugly little kind of decision.

Here's the opposite (alter ego replacement for Qantas pilots) ...

I used to think that until I had a scheduler give me grief for calling her at the start of my SC to tell her. She laid into me for not telling them the day before. I bit my tongue until I could dig into the contract and be sure I was correct. I wasn't. It does say in the contract that you are supposed to tell them when you acknowledge the SC assignment. I think you are okay as long as you get in touch with them sometime the day prior.
