Now, that's imagination. I guess they didn't have any naysayers over there.

I'm still looking for a HUGE payraise and this rumor solidifies my thoughts on the subject.....

RUMOR from another thread:

US Air offer:
What about scope though. Its better to liquidate than to allow the C Series to be outsourced.

This actually helps our management farme their thinking about a substantial raise. They want to give us industry standard, and we want industry leading? This turns whatever we do into the standard. With two out of three large competitors paying "Delta Plus", United can match.

What could possibly go wrong now?
C Series. Comac. Mitsubishi. Sukhoi. Unlimited "LCC" domestic code sharing. Outsourcing.

I often wonder if this is just APA's version of Texas Holdem with Horton. APA now has an out, even though it will be an ugly process.
While I don't see it playing out like that, its still a potentially interesting angle to look at it from.

Management wanting to give us massive raises.

I hear ya. Just stating what options are available to him. Helps us too!

That's ok, he'll just get it all back in AA Bankruptcy, Part 2, the sequel, 3 years later.

We are at the point where there shouldn't even be any talk of concessions of any kind. (Scope, pay, work rules, retirement, etc.) The possibility of US Airways and American making more than us after doing nothing that even approaches what the employees / pilots of DAL did to make our merger work should squash all talk of losing ground anywhere.

That should be our mindset from here on out, if it wasn't already.

If their DAL pay tie in rumor is true, it should be a signal to all Delta pilots to stop underestimating not only what we are worth, but also stop underestimating what we can attain.

I see the company wanting to reduce the DC by a point or two and adding it into the rates to jack up the AA costs higher, (we would be able to add it back into the 401k if we wanted) but it puts more pressure on the new AMR.

Also if the term sheet does get out and the details are released, expect the company to want to focus any and all improvements on the "me too" sections of the AMR deal, so that it will put on the greatest amount of burden possible.

So we might see a push for direct increase of rates to offset the miserable "training pay" that we get now instead of upping the CD rom pay credit. little/no increase to daily pay, vacation pay staying at 3:00/day(increasing vaca pay by 1:00/day is worth around 0.7% of a yearly rate raise PER WEEK of accured vacation), etc.

Just watch for things like that....

Would the AMR deal put a FULL VOTING pilot union member on the new AMR?
Would they get 5% equity stake in the new company?
Scope proposal could be atrocious....

I think DAL will hold off on a "final offer" until they know the result of Parker's attempt.

What a crazy turn of events...

I wonder how many DCA and LGA slots the new AMR would have to give up b/c of anti-trust concerns.....

That would make RA's push for LGA swap pure genius.. I would not want to play poker or chess against RA.

Additionally, Star Alliance would suffer a US domestic hit if the "new AMR" stayed in Oneworld.

WRT DL pilots, yes. What I was getting at was what if the APA caves and allows 88 seat C Series (with a nice sized first class thats about what the small one would seat) DL management will squeal like Ned Beatty that we have to allow that too. Outsourcing is, literally, a religion to them.

My guessing is that US would have to give up less now than they would've had to pre-slot swap. RA wasn't a "pure genius"... it was a good move for both parties involved.

The DOT, on the otherhand, will just screw the airlines merging. Doesn't matter who the involved parties are.
