Anybody else notice the YOY capacity comparison of mainline and regional?
Total mainline capacity (3)%
Regional capacity (2)%
Coparing the capacity cuts alone, the cuts at mainline are 50% larger than the reductions at the regional level...

I hope it does, but I wonder about the long term viability of the "capacity dicipline" with all the order books of the (so called) LCC's and foreign carriers when virtually no one is calling for total demand to be increasing by the same numbers.

When every US gateway city has terminals full of foreign 380's being fed by SWA, JB, AS, NK, VX and others, many of which are several times bigger than today, we won't be able to find revenue premiums by choking the supply down. The time is rapidly coming where we will have to compete, and win, or be in for a world of hurt.

I think we can do that if we make the right choices as a company now, but we have got to start beating the LCC's back at home to the point they all start shrinking and put on an ultra agressive stratedgy against the foreign airlines and I see no signs of either.

I see one more round of net capacity constraint with whatever merger scenarios AA and USAir get into. Once that plays out, we will have to compete and win without culling any more capacity and maybe even adding some back in. But will we?

From the Q&A ( Delta Air Lines' CEO Discusses Q1 2012 Results - Earnings Call Transcript - Seeking Alpha )

Jamie N. Baker - JP Morgan Chase & Co, Research Division

Okay, and a follow-up for Richard, the topic is pilots. Obviously, well maybe not obviously, in my opinion, you enjoy a better relationship with your pilots than some of your peers. I'm not going to ask you when you'll have a new contract, and even if you told me, I wouldn't hold you to it. But is it fair to extrapolate that you're more likely to get a deal sooner rather than later? And is that indeed a priority for you?

Richard H. Anderson

It is a priority for Delta to get a new agreement with our pilots well in advance of the amenable date, which I believe, Mike Campbell, is it the end of the year?

Michael H. Campbell

Yes.

Richard H. Anderson

And so if you look at our track record, and you look back to 2007, in 2007, we reached agreement with our pilots 3x within 6 months on new contracts that were well accepted. So we really value that relationship and we want to, it is a high priority here to get a new agreement concluded as quickly as we can.

Jamie N. Baker - JP Morgan Chase & Co, Research Division

Is the timing potentially impacted at all by some of the labor headlines going on these days, related to --

Richard H. Anderson

No. I think if you did it based upon how the rest of the industry does it, we'd be about 5 years.

Related to what? We almost got an answer within a question!

Ain't that the truth!

Here's [hears] a great RA quote:
"We like the trajectory we're on, so we will stay the course and stay focused on strong revenue growth; very disciplined capacity management."

...and from the Quarterly report:
"Delta's return on invested capital for the last twelve months was 10.6%."

For an airline, that's pretty darned good, working towards "investment grade."

That would be long overdue and very welcomed by all!

Our Delta careers have been financing the turnaround, it would be nice to see some ROI...

Yes, I suspect we will see sustained yoy profits of 2.5-3.5bln in a few years.

As for the capacity, well these route networks that we have are good for many things, but what they are really good at is killing the competition. I do not see airlines like Virgin and NKS getting free rein like LUV did last decade.

Need help. I can't delete a buddy pass authorization.

They checked in at the airport, never were able to get on a flight and went home. So we refunded the ticket but I am stuck with all 3 of them on my buddy pass authorizations. It will not let me delete them, just activate them.

Before I call someone, and trying to figure out who, I should be able to delete them right?
