Quick vacation bidding question, I'm new to holding a line, we don't get trip touching drops on our vacations correct? PBS will not assign you a trip that would interfere with vacation is the way I understand it. Is that correct?

Correct on both counts. But PBS will give you a late arrival home the day before and an early sign in the day after if you are not careful.

T, I think pay banding will be in our future, maybe something like 3 or 4 groups. However a 777 flying to JNB produces 2,000,000 (255pax-7700 miles) rpm's divided by 4 = 500,000(roughly) rpm's per pilot. An md88 flying 3000 miles 150 pax =225,000 rpms' per pilot.

***** sigh ***** :(

Good Luck! As a Point of reference, on the Projected Cat list, Junior MSP DC9A is 8366 and DTW DC9A is 8730.

Being junior, I'm all for pay banding now. I'll start complaining about it maybe 10 years from now. ;)

I'm with FTB...band 747/777/M89!

I find it interesting that the AE didn't go as briefed in the roadshows, ie there were no pull down in Whale and 777 specifically or super premium widebodies in general. I wonder what level (Richard or lower?) looked at it and figured the training events were too expensive.

I'm thinking there is much more to the story.......but I'll doubt we'll ever really know.

Ferd

Maybe. They also probably made the determination to keep the excess at the top. It keeps the senior pilots happy, and generally blissful to a new contract, scope etc. It also will help reduce training events if we ever decide to expand :D
