Jungle,
My intentions aren't to discredit your good news, as I hope the hiring starts and doesn't end for a long, long time. :) Just curious as to whether it was formal communication from your leadership? (i.e. letter, email, crew information file?) Or if the Chief Pilot told someone who told you? Thanks, GJ The second part was an email |

A lot of scuttle but lately about telling pilots to get their apps updated as well. Let's wait and see what happens if we ratify a contract.
You hear that? Make me buy a new suit. |

That is pretty awesome news.
Truth is, this is shaping up to be a banner DAL year: Record profits, more aircraft, TA before amendable date, (unknown merger), etc. The eurozone is the current fly in the ointment for maybe other things. Sorry, my wording was a bit imprecise. 110 Compass flowups implies at least 360 total DELTA newhires. My reasoning is that Compass can only flow 20 per month, so 110 equals six months of hiring, and Delta hired a total of 60 per month the last two times around (two classes of 30). 6*60=360. More are possible because, as I mentioned, 110 is the maximum number that can flow from Compass in any 12-month period. On the other hand, it's always possible that they're *only* planning on taking Compass (and Mesaba) flowups. I think that's unlikely, though.

Now how many European destinations have been removed from the NYC ER bid package? |

Scambo, I too am a bit optimistic, but lets not get ahead of ourselves here - all the good you speak of above (and I hope it comes to be) are currently just forecasts - none of it has happened yet. Try a 10 Euro footlong. After getting hammered with the exchange rate you're paying 15 bucks for a sandwich. Everything there's like that. Bout time some wind came out of that sail. |

Scoop Scoop; I'm with ya. And I do believe the Eurozone IS a fly in the ointment. At least we have positive rumors. Now I'll go take my anti-manic meds. I'll be back to normal tomorrow. |
