Ok, so we need to move on to a new topic here a little bit. Here's what I'd like to know. AF/KLM surrendered a large loss last quarter. The company is seeking large union concessions to make up the difference (oooof course). a) Where are the French vs. us in pay (and work rules cost) right now? b) When is their amendable date? c) How will this impact our efforts to tighten JV language or pressure re-balancing efforts against us?

AF/KLM pilot costs are roughly double ours - (source needed, it was posted previously). They have been in fairly rapid growth mode, so their upgrade times are shorter.

I dont know their amendable date.

It has always been a surprise to me that DAL was not the fast grower in the JV because our costs are so much lower. We also fly smaller equipment - so the seats across the pond require more of our jets.

Its a beancounter question, it has never made sense to me.

Anyone have experience buying "refurbished" Apple/Mac products?

I'm leaving on deployment in a month, and looking at purchasing a refurbished iPad to take with me. What I don't want to happen, in my (~)$50-$100 savings, is to buy something that I could've ended up saved time/money by buying new.

An early thanks to all those pro-Mac people out there.

I have bought all of my Apple products refurbished. I have never had any problems and they carry the same warranty as the new products.

Quixotic??? Ummmm Rand Paul is one of a handful working among the incompetents in DC who actually gets it. To rid the American public of a bloated useless bureaucracy and think of it as quixotic is nuts... TSA was THE worst thing GWB did.. and all because it was a knee jerk reaction. +1. Stossel just recently did a report on contracted airport security vs. the Tub Stacking Association. Hands down, the contracted inspectors were more pleasant, effecient, secure, and effective than the TSA on all areas investigated.
