I want to be more productive while at work. I want at least 6 hours per every calender day or duty period per trip (whichever's greater). I do not want to work more per month. I want to credit the same amount of hours with less days at work and a lot higher pay rate. These changes just have us working a lot more for the same money...actually less money after the displacements. Not good overall.
Won't you get that when you go over to SWA? You ARE still going, aren't you? |

I get the L&G tool of the day award for a huge picture... and I don't care. :)
I believe the sticker is missing because that is a super duper premium widebody. As evidenced in JFK a while ago, those things are pretty adept CRJ900 hunters as well. |
I'm waiting for a full TA before passing judgement. Scope is #1 though. I can see the company wanting more productivity to help smooth out the pending retirement exodus. I don't see the company furloughing while making $2B+ profit annually...if anything they'd offer more early retirement incentives.
If our current agreement has better scope then I'll vote no on this new one. |
Meh........nevermind.......

With regard to the Negotiator's Notepad:
I am extremely disappointed with DALPA and the negotiating team. We have been working under essentially bankruptcy forced work rules and pay rates for the better part of ten years. (Yes, there have been a few increases, but depending on one's sources, they haven't kept up/barely kept up with inflation.) We have been told by numerous sources that ALPA "get's it"... We have been told that we have leverage... And this is what they have negotiated? This is ALPA "getting it"? YGTBSM!!! I don't need to see the whole contract because there is enough there now for me to say to say no. I'm somewhat surprised this hasn't been pointed out, but under the proposed changes to reserve, crew scheduling can "park" a pilot just under the ALV so he/she is still on the hook and wait for a high time trip and fly them right up to ALV+15. Sure there are a few minor improvements, but to me anyway what has been negotiated so far are significant productivity concessions. WHY ARE WE GIVING UP ANYTHING? Lastly, from previous experience, I think the remaining negotiations will go something like this: Company playing hardball on the big stuff and the negotiating team being "burned out", agreeing to insufficient increases in pay rates, scope, etc. They'll say "Gee fellas we did the best we could. You can't reject this or we'll have to start all over. We'll get 'em next time...." In the case of these expedited negotiations they'll play the "time value of money" card. I don't want to wait (again) for "next time". Somebody gets it. |

Okay need to ask because I can't officially find it in the PWA.
(Short attention span/limited education) What is the official limit on the number of 50/ 70 / 76 seaters currently allowed under the contract? I think I remember a hard overall limit of 255, with a maximum of 150 70/76 seaters. Not sure if that is accurate. |

This is not accurate. The 255 hard limit is the 70/76 seaters. We are at that right now, but we are negotiating increasing it. 50 seaters are unlimited right now. We are negotiating decreasing that to a hard number.

So basically we have hit the 255 limit for 76 seaters and the company can have an unlimited amount of 50 seaters. (Even though 50 seaters are being pulled down) Does that sound about right??? If so, I think 255 is already way to much, and if attempting raise that is even a consideration in this TA the negotiators are moreorless wasting everybody's time despite the early negotiations. I won't get to excited until I see the official TA, though Do we get to see the TA after if goes to the reps, regardless if it is voted down or passed? |

Let's not confuse two concepts: 1 that the 50-seaters are obsolete and costly, and 2 that they're actually going away. |
