There will definitely be a massive increase in mainline blk hrs but not b/c we are actually taking the flying back but b/c we are so much more efficient and flying more anyway.
The more days that go by the more ****ty the rumors I am hearing get. Funny how not a single rumor even hints at massive take backs or pay raises. Only give give give....

I know. The latest NNP was off the charts insane. Many want to take an optimist view but the opposite is warranted here IMO because almost every single item was either a full or offset giveback. All the big ticket items are "still being negotiated" and the few net positives will either apply only to a small number of pilots or are very limited in scale like being able to call in sick for a toothache. OK, that's a positive I guess, but in the grand scheme of things it makes the over all CBA about 0.001% better. Getting rid of the 75% sick pay seems like a win, but there are very, very few pilots who can even get to the point where they can take sick time at 75% because more often than not what puts you there puts you well beyond short and long term disability anyway. More sick time for over 20 years longevity? Um, ok. seriously? Again, if you need to use more than 240 hours in a year, you are almost always well into disability by that point anyway so "increasing" that is almost always meaningless. Meanwhile the vast majority of the list gives up significant amounts of earned sick time year after year for nothing in return.

Theres relief for reserves all over the NNP for the company, especially in the summer time, which translates into lower staffing required year round. Considering the concessionary tone of this NNP, can we really expect comensurate positivs out of this? Keeping in mind SWA reserves have a guarantee of 78 hours, at rates well over 30% higher than ours, with 14/15 days off, and the future TA based on this NNP is well under that, we should be getting drastically in excess of 30-40% raises. As in 50-75% raises considering we have to underbid SWA in all respects. And they do it with 100% scope other than a tiny Volaris code share...yet we are expected to give up more scope yet again.

Oh yeah, supposedly to tighten scope. Right. That doesn't even pass the sniff test. Is the company really going to give us "peace in our time" WRT section 1, if only we allow a tiny amount of additional 76 seaters? Of course not. Whatever they give us in exchange will either be what they are going to do anyway (i.e. reducing or eliminating the AS code share abuse only because they intend to merge with AS, thus selling us what we were getting for free anyway) or the same with foreign airlines. Maybe if we agree Gol can't get A380's then DCI can get another 100 E175's.

Theoretically can the TA be awesome, even in light of the POS NNP? Sure, philosophically. We could theoretically get 10 million dollar bonuses on DOS, 75% raises and zero cost health care in exchange for 1 single additional 76 seater and the numerous work rule concessions could, theoretically, be offset by a hard 8 hour min day for lineholders and reserves. But you KNOW we're not getting anything remotely close to any of that. This will be a net POS, far below SWA, with another scope sale. Book it. We wouldn't have released what we have released (mostly neutral to negative with only marginal positives) in an attempt to prime the pump/manage expectations if it weren't the case. Worst case we're being set up to be sold out, and best case we're being allowed to pay for our own improvements with degredations elsewhere and in either case DCI looks to get more DC-9-10 replacement jets. It looks like it will get past the reps too. A solid no vote from the pilot group is the only thing stopping this freight train at this point.

I really hope I'm wrong but between the NNP and the cryptic coached lawyer noncommittal nonanswers we've been getting and based on the sum total of what we've seen, heard and not seen or heard, round one and possibly the entire epidited process is going to suck and have to be voted down.

Help us LEC reps, you're our only hope.

How can this be all we could negotiate?

If this thing gets passed, we will be referring to today as the "good ol' days."

"Let them fleet!"

Remember what Popeye's old buddy says, give me a hamburger today and I'll pay you tomorrow.

If it's for a June vacation, you should be able to enter your desired dates in PBS, just pick the date range you prefer. There is a "Notepad" about it burried somewhere on the DALPA Forum, on the opening page or in the PBS forum.

Boeing flew a 787 into DCA today. Pretty cool. Only problem was the wing tips hung over the opposing taxiways. One way to beat SWA to the runway.
