While that was a $5 issue (shrug); a tablet computer would probably require 24 / 7 babysitting to keep from being stolen by one of the millions of non-Delta employees that are all over Delta Air Lines jets. Once they figure out there is something they can take off the flight deck they'll start seeking them out.

At JFK the rampers (probably cleaners) opened my closed flight bag while I took a Starbucks run and took the candy I had bought for the flight attendants.

Hell, I'll leave my Company IPad out and in the cubby hole while I do a walk around or get a coffee (our coffee sucks! lol).
If it's gone when I get back.. Oh well. The Cockpit is suppose to be a secure location. If cleaners, or anyone else comes in and steals a piece of required equipment, ya call the cops and take the delay.
Plus, an IPad can actually be tracked. So the rocket scientist stealing company IPads will probably be caught fairly quickly and hopefully prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Just my opinion.
Motch
Then there's this guy paying $225,000 for a spot: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/12/us/12parking.html
I wonder if those guys lost their shirts when they couldn't flip those spots and still had a $1200 monthly mortgage?

I found this napkin stuffed next to my QRH today on the flight deck! It looks like mgt is really ramping up their sales pitch!!
I'm seeing some good clues the TA may offer us 20%!

The Calls Are Coming From Inside The House - Television Tropes & Idioms
FO on phone: "Hello officer, it's me again. We just landed, and have you had a chance to run a trace on my equipment?"
Police: "We did, and we show your device is still on the flight deck."
Captain looks away sheepishly and spins the locks on his flight case...
This would be an uncomfortable moment in the spirit of "...the calls are coming from inside the house!"
