Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Sailing,
Why exactly would you post this? If the decision was made not to let us know what the survey results were, I'm sure it's not exactly cool for you to post that info on a public forum.....
Plus, why exactly would we open at what we wanted? Wouldn't a decent negotiator open at survey minimum plus XX%?

I agree though, he is basically going against what was said would be done. In essence using the "secret survey numbers" to lower expectations instead of letting us all see them early on which could have empowered us. ALPA loves to keep us in the dark, and make decisions for us. History repeats itself.
Lets at least hope some of the top ALPA guys manage to constructively engage themselves into better positions....politics, airline management consulting or management positions are waiting. Screw the rest of yall.

But earlier leaks indicate we are selling work rules (giving the company more productivity which equals the need for less pilots going forward) for more pay. As you know, pay comes and goes, work rules rarely come back. Are you OK with worsening work rules as part of the package?

Maybe.
I'll use another extreme example, but let's say they can work all reserves to 99 hours every month. In return for this abuse, we bring ALL outsourced flying home and get a 50% payraise.
Is the above a win for the pilot group as a whole? It depends. Bringing all flying in house would probably have enough of a net positive for guys to consider it a great success. Ice the cake with a little $ and now we're talking.
My example is ridiculous, but the point is: we all need to see the WHOLE deal before we start choosing what isn't acceptable.
We've all established many times that we have a price to be bought. Heck, for 100 Billion Dollars I'll have an RJ tattooed on my forehead. I absolutely have a price to outsource more of our jobs. Fortunately I'm 100% positive that management cannot afford to buy me off, let alone 11,999 of my fellow Delta pilots.
Serenity now.
It appears that we'll have some better info to go on sooner than later.

I am a little irritated, so let me vent.
If, like sheep, we believe that the "given/survey" number is less than 30% or if it is truly a reflection of the majority of pilots here; then we work with a BUNCH OF SALLIES. IM DISGUSTED. We have no room to complain anymore.
Admit-tingly, I am losing a little faith in ALPA. These trial balloons are a direct tool to lower expectations.

Question...purely hypothetical. I do not have any advanced knowledge...just trying to use my Louisiana education. How would it look if we are able to get 6 hrs. a calendar day? That would make a four day trip worth 24 hours minimum, 3 day 18, etc. If that was factored in with a higher ALV, wouldn't we wind up working less than now? I commute and fly mostly four days, averaging 14-15 days a month away from home. If the day credit was calendar based and was raised to 6 hours, would't I be working less days away from home for the same number of hours. Now factor in a 20% increase in the pay rate and it is now a different ballgame. Please understand, I am not trying to settle....just trying to wrap my poor, burned out mad dog brain around possible options. Would someone better with numbers like to play around with this and let me know how it looks. Jethro Bodean and I are not far apart, mentally.
