Yeah, even a little ****** in an otherwise good sandwich can make it a ****** sandwich. What does the FDA allow, something like 6 rat hairs and/or 1/16th of a mouse turd in a can of chili or whatever? Any more than that and stop reading it, send it back and get it right.

Actually I think it's close (but below) what most people want in addition to looking through a lot of fine print with a lot of briefings from the "Subject Matter Experts" because if they pass it they are going to have to write all the explanations and answer all the questions. If it really was a total POS it wouldn't take this long to go through. If it were a slam dunk (no chance of that) then it also wouldn't take too long to go through. It is quite a bit above POS BUT way below a slam dunk - it's close but still a ways away from what the survey stated. I guess we'll all find out Monday some time. I was hoping they might finish today so we would have it by the weekend. I am glad they are taking their time on this - if it gets sent to us at least they spent some time taking it apart (remember our current PWA is 500 pages - hopefully all the reps will read it through at least once).

We have money for this?

Delta offers flight from LaGuardia to Newark for NHL game

Delta Air Lines is offering New York Rangers fans a free flight. The catch is that it's a 17 minute flight from LaGuardia Marine Air Terminal Airport to Newark Liberty Airport.

The airline promotion was only open to people who had tickets to Game 3 of the NHL playoff series between the Rangers and the New Jersey Devils.

They were calling Saturday's promotion the "ultimate ride" to the game.

The first-come, first-serve promotion offered:

Complimentary seats on a special charter flight, departing at 10am
Rangers alumni on flight
Rangers gifts and prizes
Free ground transportation from Newark Airport to the Prudential Center, and return to LaGuardia after the game
The chance for a lucky seat to win a free road trip for two to a Rangers away game during the 12-13 season.

The deadline to sign up was noon on Thursday, May 17th.

What I want to know is, What's in it for us?

I mean, they've managed to leak the bad stuff...so...where's the GOOD stuff?

What caused them to Rush into this?

I find it hard to believe they are actually considering allowing MORE 76 RJ's, raising the ALV, more flying for reserves, and reducing profit sharing by 1/3, at a time when Richard and Ed have been yapping about $Billions of profits going forward.

Where's the leak about More Big Airplanes? And I don't mean 717's, I mean Wide Bodies, so narrow body drivers can move up into a pay raise.

Where's the leak about an early out program that will cover medical premiums?

Where's the leak about a $25,000 signing bonus, for everybody, on day one?

I find it hard to believe we would rush into a contract that contains only the 'leaked' numbers, so there must be a lot of "Good Stuff" we haven't heard about, yet...right?

100 more 777's?

Fully funded 401K?

Free medical plan?

OK, MEC, Leak all over me, I'm used to it!

What's the Good Stuff?

They are following the policy manual and doing what they should do. It could have already been voted on however a couple of reps are insisting on the 7 days so they will move on to normal business and vote Monday.
That however does not excuse the lack of communication since the TA. They could have published a short version hitting the highlights of the TA hours after it was reached. This was common in past contracts. We did not wait until MEC ratification to see the major points on a TA. If they felt there are valid reasons to withhold TA details then a letter to all pilots should have been sent out with a explanation.

Unbelievable...

No kidding ... and you would think that scenario would have been an "emphasis item" in training of late.

In our fleet we had some high altitude upsets in our last profile. They were good training, IMHO. Typically the right answer is to go 2 - 4,000 feet lower, although that was not the answer the IP was necessarily looking for.

Sailing,

I'll buy coffee if anyone wants to come down and support their Reps in open session on Monday.

This TA apparently isn't getting instant "approve this thing by acclimation" treatment, which tells me there are a couple of NO Votes. That's a good thing, indicating democracy is working. The bad news is that there are obvious indications of problems with this agreement.

If I can wrestle the family to the Delta event today, I may try to corner Mr. Anderson for 10 seconds and ask tangential questions with regard to Section 1.

The fact Slowplay and Alpha aren't on the web boards bonking my head means they are busy bonking the no votes this week. The intense lobbying effort in the name of "unity" is worrying. AirTran's example is being used to convince pilot reps to send this out so the membership can vote on ... anything. (would the NWA example pre JPWA be the same?)

Can / would our MEC send this out with a split vote and no recommendation? I would prefer that to the typical cram down model.

Anyone attending Atlanta's Block Party today?

Anyone attending the open session of the MEC meeting on Monday?

No on the block party.

Yes on the meeting, if they have not already approved it. I am expecting a call from one of my reps today or tomorrow when he gets the chance.
