Everyone keeps talking about the eye exam, heck I am worried about the 60 question test. BFM, ACT, CAS and SAT are things I understand. Doing ICE-T airspeed conversions is what is going to kill me. Maybe they will let me incorporate CRM and ask my buddy next to me the answer or used my Delta issued IPAD. Guess I will keep on studying. What I would do for some good old gouge!
Cheers

With all this talk about visual acuity and depth perception, what is the story about Delta's color vision testing? Thank you.

The minimums ARE competitive mins. This gives the company the ability to invite for an interview, a far broader group of candidates. Hours alone is one dimensional. DAL wants and hires people...people they want in the company.

Flighttime does not a culture make, people do.

Sort of true. No civilians got called in 2010 that had less than 4000 hours. My friend was a CRJ captain and line check airman with several recs but didn't make the cut to get an interview invite due to having a bit less than 4000 hours.

I found that worked in the Air Force.

It did not work for me at the Delta physical. Stony-faced med tech wasn't playing ball = a few very tense minutes with the circles.

My personal favorite was the tech that must have slipped through the cracks on the "how to stick a needle in to draw blood" portion of training.

I've got pretty prominent veins, and did even moreso then with as much heavy weight training and running I was doing. Well, she stuck that needle in and missed 3 times... the 4th time just started digging around. I've got a pretty solid stomach, so I held it together. "hey, why don't you try the big blue thing right next to where you're digging around?" "Ok" Finally, she struck red gold. Ugh.

She did the same thing to another guy the next day (or it might have been the same day, brain is fried right now). He fainted... and just an entire mess ensued. Apparently he was able to eventually get the job offer after a bunch of hoop jumping.
