Answer: plug the fix into the FMC. For diverts, pull up ALTN DEST in the FMC. Fly there.

^^^^ Exhibit A: What makes a fighter guy a fighter guy.

(Not that I could have picked the fighter that I didn't want anyway, but I know plenty of pilots who passed up the option in order to get other aircraft. Typical reasons: prefered heavy aircraft flying and didn't want to hang out with fighter guys).

I think the interviewers need to update their interview questions and concepts. It's not 1984 or 1996 and the 727 is long gone. Let's stop kidding ourselves!

Maybe for the heavy equipment drops, but you'd need to attack Rhode Island the long way to get all the troopers our in one pass.

Huh? They're asking 727 questions on the test? Or in the face to face?

Absolutely! Especially for us military guys. Back in '01, I prepped my ass off. DAL interviewers know if you're prepared or not. Don't be that guy. A career at DAL vs. a few hundred bucks? No brainer.

Also, don't skimp on your hotel. Stay close to the HQ and get a good nights sleep. I stayed at the Hilton and walked over 15 minutes prior to having to be there. Again, a few bucks vs. a career? No brainer. Good luck guys!! We're all thrilled to have you coming into the fold!

Thanks for the updates... Now if you can tell me how to get that interview I will buy your beverages of choice for a full week. You can crash at my house. Will even get the wife to cook you 3 square meals a day during that time

My point was that many of the questions that are asked seem quite patronizing and ridiculous for today's industry and applicant demographic. Who is being called that doesnt know how to hold? Or when to divert? And with the guys that have been stuck in the right seat for the last decade, ask some relevant questions like crm scenarios with dbag captains, or something about technology being used today, not in the old days when a flight engineer calculated the time it took to accelerate to v1. It seems that a vast majority of applicants are not new to the 121 world, they know how acars and cpdlc work, and are not naval aviators!
