My medical was issued in 6/13. I was 39 when I received the medical, so it is good for 12 calendar months (until 6/14). Turned 40 last month. I can only think that the Delta system dinged me because it thinks since I'm 40 I needed a new medical every six months--which will not be the case until my next medical is issued in 6/14.

I e-mailed airline apps to see what they suggest for my "correction." But I thought I'd post on this board to see if anyone else has encountered this issue and has recommendations on how to resolve it.
Just to update. I just got back from getting my physical and updating my application. Two seconds after I pushed update, I got an e-mail from Plato at Airline Apps. He stated: "There is nothing in the Airline Apps system that indicates when your medical expires since we don't consider your age. The application simply shows that your medical was issued on a certain date. Delta has made a mistake in assuming your medical is expired and they should be contacted."

Too late for me, but I thought others might like to know. I'm fairly certain that just getting the medical early was still the most expeditious way to keep the ball going forward. Now I get to see if Delta is really interested . . .

Spirit has good to great work rules and pay. Do yourself a favor and try to get on with Spirit. You might love working there plus the pilot work group is strong and they dont roll over. Their contract is one to be envious of. Its not perfect but nothing is.

I think it would be smart to head over to SPIRIT, you will notice a different "feel" and different more enjoyable flying. You might not want to come to Delta after. Otherwise, the Regional world is not a good place to be. Dont put all your eggs in the DELTA basket either. UAL/AA/FDX/SWA are all in a good place to reign.

If there is no upgrade in sight like you say, without hesitation go to a reputable LCC. Worst case it will be neutral, best case a positive. It will not hurt you in the slightest IMHO. If anything it proves you are hireable by a higher tier, which is likely how they will view it. It will make you more desireable in their eyes from a HR standpoint that transcends just the size of the equipment. Plus if you end up staying there a while or a career for whatever reason, it will likely be far superior to a regional.

Received similar e-mail for updated Military training on 19 Mar 2014. Filled all gaps (to the day) for any aviation/leadership training received and returned a "Thank you for the opportunity" email on the 21st. Now living in the glass half full world! Will post if/when I hear something.

Received the fix-it e-mail today for incomplete address history, ensured there were no gaps and replied to the e-mail. Hoping for more to come.

Trying to get a C-130 friend a shot at an interview. Could someone please tell me if air-apps still has an "app number" to identify the applicant? If so, is it necessary to include that number in his recommendation? In other words, how does AK find JOHN SMITH? Good to see ya the other day T! Sorry to be in such a rush. Cheers H...

Question.

I have had an Airlineapps account for years. I have always maintained a 10 year work history on that website. Based on the fact that it says "Jobs requiring background checks will need a 10 year history. If you have not worked the last 10 years, your work/unemployment/education must account for the last 10 years."

My previous career looks a bit spotty with lots of job changes as I hated my previous career. SALES!!

Does Delta want my work history for the past 25 years? Or just the last 10?

Maybe that's one reason I'm not getting a call.

Yes Delta wants your entire work history not just background check timeframe. If you did college just make that all one time block in education and then start your work history after that if possible with no gaps except periods of unemployment entered in the unemployed section.

Got two of these (with slight differences) this week.

I am wondering if this is an application pool-wide maintenance or a focus on some potential interview invites? I certainly don't want to get my hopes up, but it would be great to hear if any of you get the "invite."
