ghilis,

Congrats on interview. I know you have some mil flying, did you list Altus, etc, under the education? Didn't even enter my mind.

Default First Class Medical

You need a first class medical because at the end of training you get typed in the aircraft. I had my first class in Sept and just took my check ride a couple days ago so now I don't have to get another first class til Sept (whereas if training went into April I would have needed to get a first class medical this month).

Congrats! I have noticed how determined you were to get a invite based on your posts. I really hope you have a great interview and your dream of joining our ranks works. Make sure to do the prep. The good news is it appears the need for pilots will continue and attitude will go a long way especially if you do the prep work.

KC-10 FTU is at Altus? I always thought that was at the base itself. When did that change to Altus?

sorry for the confusion... KC-10 FTU was in house at wri, but the 2 altus schools I was referring to were C-17 initial qual, and a few years later for C-17 ac upgrade.

Can't wait for the next generation of Douglas Post Certification & Line Flying Test Pilots takes to the sky, to try to figure out basic airworthiness and system fixes while flying revenue passengers. Why engineer on the drawing board what can be worked around on the ramp by the operator with training via urgent bulletins and emergency airworthiness directives?

We've got the list of what needs fixing down to the wing, brakes, engine, ground spoilers, flight controls, hydraulics, avionics and electrical system(s). Maybe it would be easier to describe what does work,.... the cabin pressurization outflow valve seems to work and you can watch it's operation ... how much fun is that!

You will like the heading knob. It is the most awesome heading knob ever devised by man. It can't really be described on paper, but just trust me, it is awesome.

You'll like that knob, so when ATC gives you a runway change and the little man inside the FMC says "goodbye cruel world" and blows his little 8008 CPU brains out, one mash & a plea for a vector will have you sayin' and "Bob's your Uncle" while missing your turn and going straight to the front of the line for that controller to get out of his airspace.

Southwest, eat your 737.

I just wanna get hired, so I can do the same job I've already been doing for 14 years at G scale wages. If it means going back to getting a medical every six months sign me up!!!!
Wont they know your age down to the day from you giving your date of birth??? Btw, I just recently got a new medical because it was due this month and updated my airlineapps with DL. I suppose I better plan on getting another one in six months if I havent received and interview offer by then.

Anybody get the interview invite without getting the "Correct me" Email first? Also how amenable are they to scheduling conflicts? (Like being deployed)
