Current 135 pilot; no 121 time

Also, I received the fix it email on Feb. 10. Feeling very lucky! And, incredibly nervous now!

Congrats! When did you press "send" on your original application?

The stereotype for the airline vs corporate thing drives me bat-sh!t crazy! Its all about the individual IMO.
True, although I'd think in your case any potential negatives associated with 135/91 flying would be negated since you have 121 experience. That's a lot of recs though! Good luck and the only things I could suggest (that you probably already thought of) are continue to update at least monthly, never stop networking and to ground pound job fairs, etc.

That's what I'd like to see DL get. I understand the desire for more transparency and the move away from the good ole boy secret handshake network thing, but there really does need to be at least a limited way for current pilots to grease the skids for a limited number of potential applicants beyond merely writing a letter, of which every applicant these days has a hundred of anyway.

I know of a pilot in both UAL and DAL hired pools.

Why?

The current system is fair.

Or are you advocating for that one percent to get a special deal that trumps everyone else?. Just effing wit chew.

The ultimate "feel-good" thread!

You're happy to get here, we're happy to see you guys. And no Southwest anywhere in the thread.

What Scambo said. It's a good system, and you can rest assured that you were hired because you deserved it, not because you know someone that deserves it. And not because your airline took the cheap route (quotas) to Equal Opprtunity.

I just got a "fix it" e-mail today, but it has me scratching my head.

It states "the date entered for your FAA First Class Medical Certificate indicates that it is no longer valid. Please take appropriate action to correct this situation so that we may continue to review your application."

My medical was issued in 6/13. I was 39 when I received the medical, so it is good for 12 calendar months (until 6/14). Turned 40 last month. I can only think that the Delta system dinged me because it thinks since I'm 40 I needed a new medical every six months--which will not be the case until my next medical is issued in 6/14.

I e-mailed airline apps to see what they suggest for my "correction." But I thought I'd post on this board to see if anyone else has encountered this issue and has recommendations on how to resolve it.
