I stand by my theory that it is a total person concept the hiring folks look for. Internal recs, quals, GPA, extra curricular, etc. They all play into getting you the interview. Interview gets you the job. Good luck lads!
My theory is that Delta wants something about each canidate to stand out - something to pull them out of the crowd. For some guys that's their GPA, for some it's check airman time, and for others it might be community service. I don't know what all the possible combinations might be - but they definately seem to apply a "big picture/total package" approach to looking at each canidate. I don't think anyone will be excluded for having a less than stellar gpa, provided there is something else about their history that pulls them above the crowd.

If you are sentenced to community service does that count?

I had a 2.2 GPA with a BS in Biology from The Citadel. Education apparently isn't the only qualifier.

Yeah, much to my children's chagrin. They usually learn after the second blanket party or so...

Time for some family bonding:

It's important to talk with your kids:

Echoing this question - I re-look through the whole application every time I update and still haven't seen where they would want you to put community service......

I planted a few community service nuggets in my Letters of Rec (community service was not my "stand out" area). March hire.
