Delta Hiring News

Hey Gang,
after glossing over this thread for about minutes I have not been able to determine the current competitive quals (civilian). Can anyone toss some ball-park stuff out there, short of a lunar landing and SR71 time
a internal rec is a obvious necessity... but are folks getting on with just RJ PIC and 6-7,000 hours, or is there something else needed to be competitive... mainline type aircraft time, checkairman or office type stuff, etc.
thanks

Just as a point of clarification, Compass pilot's AREN'T going through the process that a Pinndeavor pilot is. CPZ pilots (flow) are simply taking slots that were negotiated via the flow.
Whereas Pinndeavor have to go through a modified process, even on the SSP.
So to adjust your point, much of the standard/variable 40-50-60% that make of the civilian demographic comes from there. With a more competitive contingent of non CPZ/9E getting the call as well.

Does anyone know how many compass pilots have flow and of those how many have been hired already? I heard that most of the compass flows are almost done for the year so that should help hiring from off the street, not sure if that is true?

Does anyone have any amplifying info on getting a 'fix your application' email from Delta? I got a reply from HR asking for high school gpa and more than 10 yrs of work history. I guess it is getting looked at but does it mean anything good?

Thanks, I referred a friend of mine and got a email that more of less says they have received the lor.
His degree is very generic, some sort of aviation degree he picked up during the day when he was not flying night freight. His background includes everything from turboprop pic to 747s (I think he's on airline number 5 now, don't let him pick your stocks). He got hired at another major about 6 years ago now and had his class cancelled.
We're just curious as to what is getting people called. Most of the stuff I've read doesn't discuss flight times, aircraft, etc.

I heard from Arnie Kraby as well, ask a friend at a job fair. He said "you didn't do that online program did you?" So obviously the online degree program is not looked at as a good degree from Arnie's perspective. I guess they rank the schools by tiers and the determines your overall school as well. So if your buddy did online and has had a a lot of jobs, that could bring his overall score down.

Got the "we need your high school info on your app" email, which I fixed and then heard back a few days later with an invite to interview email. This was back in '10

Yes. Fill it out completely. List everything!

If he is on airline job #5 that could be a bad thing as well. Depending on why he has so many jobs could actually be hurting his overall score.

The CZ flows are coming to an end soon and I believe all of the XJ flows have seniority #'s already. The flows are pretty much done.

Headed to OBAP next week. Does anyone have any pointers or a heads up on what to expect? I've had my app in for about a year with DAL with 6 internal recs, but still nothing. I am hoping to get my foot in the door at OBAP but want to be well prepared. Thanks in advance.
