I'd second that as a good guess.

A few years back Delta tweeted a youtube video of Arnie explaining the process. It's deleted now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0EeBvEwtnc.
The process is getting a trigger to get your app scored, where two from the hiring department sit down with your app, and give you a score based on whether you meet the motivation required to be a Delta pilot. So in other words there are no real requirements other than the minimums to apply.

I see confirmed for now:
1 class in Dec
2 classes in Jan
3 classes in Feb
Not sure on the sizes.

I think the latest update mentioned 50 in Dec, then 80 per month starting in Jan, but unlike that past where class size were fairly standard (3 x 25-30 per month), they are going to start "right sizing" each class to match training capability. So the classes in Feb could be 2 classes of 20, and then a class of 40.

Any idea on where new hires will be going? Any chance for SEA, LAX OR SLC?

On the last AE, there were plenty of unfilled slots on the 73N in SLC and LAX that could go to new hires. I’d expect some of those to pop up in class. If you can’t get those due to a poor SSN, then I’d take 73N NYC if it’s offered and then transfer west on next AE.

If you can’t hold 73N, I’d bid anything besides the 717 and cross my fingers for vacancies out west on the next AE.

Hope this helps

What FogSkier said, and I'll add that I expect another AE will come out fairly soon to provide more new hire positions. I can tell you that some new hires in the past year did get SEA, but there would have to be another AE with vacancies that went unfilled for that to happen again. LAX and SLC if you can't get them in class it won't be horribly long. If it's the right equipment less than a year, if not, you can bid out of your seat lock after a year if the base you are bidding to doesn't have the equipment you're on.

Have any candidates with civilian backgrounds received interview invites from Delta recently? If so when was your internal recommendation submitted?
