Talk about grade inflation. Back when I was struggling to maintain my "2.0 and go," the highest GPA one could get was a 4.0.

Once an AE closes, do they usually dump all of the unbid slots to new hires at once? For example, if there are 35 unbid slots after an AE, do all 35 go to the next class to fill up the requirement? Or do they still try to maximize the vacancies at other locations as well? Thanks!

Probably depends on what the training dept can handle. Some of the fleets are very limited to how many they can train at once, mostly a sim issue. Others, like the 75/76 can pump a bunch thru. But that's a complicated category for a new guy, mostly due to worldwide ops.

New hire slots are based on both simulator and check airman availability. They will only make available slots equaling the class size.

Contractually, only unbid slots from the most recent AE may be offered to new hire pilots. How they divvy those up, to the extent that they are greater in number than the size of the class, I'm not sure.

It'd be funny if a new hire get offered NYC 717 A. My seniority # is 8xxx and I only have 13 people senior to me bidding it as of 10 A.M. today.
