- There seems to be some inconsistency about UPT check-ride busts. I talked to folks and everyone said they didn't note them on their app. I didn't either. When they asked me if I had any check-ride bust in the interview I asked if that included UPT--they said yes, so I had to add/initial/explain.

- Everything else was per previous discussions. Great folks who do their best to put you at ease. It was more of an interactive discussion than an interview.
UPT does not give check rides, period. To get a legal check ride, you need a legal examiner, the pilots in check flight are not SEFEs thus you are not getting a check ride. It is black and white, no examiner = no check ride, and I wouldn't report a UPT check ride bust, nor would I ask about it.

You may be technically correct, but I don't know that that is good info given the context.

Can one of you all who have recently been hired or invited to interview help clear something up for me? I've scoured these forums and can't seem to find a definitive answer. On the airline apps addendum, where it asks if you've ever been convicted of a crime yada yada, are you all checking yes? (assuming you've had a traffic ticket at some point in your life). It seems silly to check yes considering you already list all of your traffic violations on the main app.

What is the exact wording?

** I dont want to steer you the wrong way but this is what I found by doing a quick google search. DYDD..

"""""The short answer is no.

There are several types of crimes:
Crimes:
Felonies: 1 year and jail and longer
Misdemeanor: Up to 1 year and Jail & $1000 fine

Then there are Non-criminal offenses(do not count as "crimes"):
Violation/Infraction - punishable by fine only or in some cases short jail term(no more then 15 days). Examples loitering, open alcohol container
Traffic Violations - Speeding, running a red light, etc. """

Thanks for the quick reply ten. The question on the addendum is "have you ever been convicted of any felony, misdemeanor, infraction, offense of other violation on any law?"

The answer is "YES". Any violation of the law would include driving tickets. I put on my application that I don't have any felonies ore anything else but do have violations as previously reported on my app. Then I listed my driving violations. They want to see if you can follow directions and answer yes again. The main application is created by airlineapps and the addendums are specific to Delta, hence the reason for having the question twice. Just put as previously reported and list your violation, at least this is what I was told by a recruiter.

This is bad advice. I selected no (CJO received). Your driving tickets are listed elsewhere. They will ask about your tickets in the interview and every question on the addendum as well.

Alas--the inconsistency I mentioned (when I clarified with my panel the retired Capt said, "yes, busted checkride or busted any formal training". While I agree with you that UPT checkrides shouldn't count, the only opinions that matters are the folks on the interview panel who are doing the scoring. If you clarify you should be good. If you don't clarify and your panel happens to see it differently, you may find yourself in a jam.
