I was wondering if any of you guys know if the "availability date" on the app impacts DAL's interview invitation dates e.g. my availability date is 01 May 2015 so, should I even expect any kind of interview invites until that date is within a certain window of time?

Thx in advance for any info gents!

Not sure about availability date, but I retired this fall and was hired by Delta. My app was in well over a year. I don't know of a single retiring military that got hired without their app being in over a year unless they knew someone. YMMV, but expect it to take a little time. Good luck

Back in the day, dal wouldn't interview/ hire mil guys until you were close to your availability date. This was so they could get you into class on or shortly after your availability date. That was not the case with united back then fwiw.

You have to dig through the hiring and latest greatest threads to find the actual drops. Last few classes have been very heavy NYC, others have favored ATL. Generally speaking you can count on NYC or ATL on the ER, 717 or 88. With the occasional bus and 73.

With the normal summer ramp up on the ER I would expect Jan and Feb classes to be heavily ER and biased to NYC especially given the planned opening of a 330 category there.

2 new 737-900 sims will be up and running in February and they need double the instructors they currently have to make it work. They have already started preparing the sim bays for them to show up.

Full throttle on training!

Hopefully this will able us to end the "E" period sims for the LAX 737 guys at recurrent. I think I am due in March so I may just luck out.

I don't know if they care about turboprop vs turbine, and I don't know how they handle rotor time. Best of luck!
Thx all for responses. I have 3 internal recs and 2 job fairs lined up. Did the Emerald Coast prep as well.

I'll keep doing the prep and networking where possible.

The official plan subject to change at any time is to drop to 75 per month in the spring.

That's what I heard too. The 115, then 135, was a temporary flex up to staff summer. In spring it will be too late to staff anything more for summer, so back to 75 a month is the plan for now. That's still a lot of hiring though, even with the flows.
