Delta Hiring News

Wow. You're even negative about the hiring wave. Your glass must be bone dry.
Since we came up just shy of 1000 new pilots last year, I think the news that we will do at least that much hiring again this year is a big deal and a pretty darn good thing for all of us.

The training center rumors are at 135 new hire pilots per month for the next few months.
I also heard "more will go into the ER fleet". More than before I guess.
88 and 320 are the "steady flows. More will go into the 737 as well".
Good luck to all interested.
Delta will be lucky to have y'all.

So does this mean a slow down in hiring. If they have hired 240 already this year and they want to hire 135 a month through June that will give them 540 plus the 240 already hired 780 total. This means they will only hire 220 from July to August or about 36 guys a month for the last 6 months. It would seem like 1000 hired this year is actually really low based on how many have already been hired. Is it a 1000 on top of the 240 already hired because that would seem to make more sense.

I put it in both the education section and the employment history section since it was both a formal school training course and was one of my assignments. Wasn't asked about it at the interview. Most other guys I know who were also hired listed it the same way.

You are putting way to much thought into this. The projected hiring numbers and the actual hiring numbers never match. Announced hiring had to be budgeted and approved - this appears to happen a little at a time.
The off/on Pilot hiring switch is currently set to on and is forecast to remain so. Enjoy the good times while they last, because they never do.

Ha ha! I don't know what? What about "a little over 1000 since last November" implied that I don't know how many were hired. You have to admit, your question was pretty poorly worded.
According to last month's flying ops update, 996 were hired in 2014, and so far for 2015, 146 through the first week of Feb 2015. Still not sure what your original question was, but the plan as of now is around 1000 to be hired in 2015, +/- however many they deem necessary to change that target by.
