Fellas start on Monday, but been waiting for nearly two years, studying, watching and wondering what it took to get the invite... for my two cents for those waiting here are my observations. 1st you have to meet minimum qualifications obviously, but selection to interview is based soooo much more than just a litnay of aviation hours and quals. From my perspective Delta is looking at the whole person concept, especially at the "servant leadership" aspect. If you haven't placed items into your app that include things such as...church youth group leader, Boy Scout cub master, habitat for humanity volunteer, etc. you are short changing your app. Professional, experienced aviation leader/qualified applicant is crucial, but those still waiting go scrub your applications to ensure you are attempting to capture the good person(s) you are outside of just the flying. These aspects are stressed heavily in the military officer core and in many cases necessary to achieve promotion etc. These ramblings are just from someone, whom like many has waited nearly 2 years to join the ranks of Delta Aviators, and ecstatic about Monday's indoc. Hopefully these insights might help some of you adjust your apps. Good luck to everyone waiting and hoping

This is different from United and others. If you still believe I'm incorrect, let me know and I'll inform OC Miller he's full of it.
TED,

I think I do get it and I think we are agreeing on the main point: to get your app reviewed with human eyes, you need an internal, attended a job fair, or... that third thing that I can't remember.

Now when someone updates their app with an internal, some one or something "triggers" the app saying "look at me". That some one or something can be a computer, a monkey, or a human, but who really cares? The point I think Delta is emphasizing is that every invite has their app reviewed with human eyes and they take pride in that, as they should.

So everyone get an internal or go to a job fair!! But make sure your app is solid and error free before you upload the internal.

I think we killed this horse !

For those that have the 737-type are you listing that under aircraft flown and just listing 0 hours? It was recommended to me to do that and then account for the simulator time in your simulator time calculations, but I'm not quite sure that passes the "this makes sense" test...

Default Internal recomendation

Is there something that we are supposed to put on the internal for the interview people to associate it with an app?
SSN? Home address? Birthday?

I have a friend with a very generic sounding name and I don't want my internal to be wasted.

My guy included an attachment with my current resume. That way they had all my information.

They haven't invited me in though

Vyper, great info and congrats. Aside from adding personal leadership/volunteer work in the resume where in airline apps should we include that intel? Thx.

Is your friend's Delta email in your app? I'm not sure if this is how internals are associated, but my reference stressed to make sure I used his Delta email in the reference section. He also included it in the actual internal recommendation.

Under Education History, there is an 'Educational Achievements' box, and after the Employment History (under Employment - Misc), there is an 'Achievements and Awards' box.

These are two areas I've seen many volunteer and 'this accolade doesn't fit anywhere else'-type items.

Any other suggestions out there?
