All pessimists are realists in their own pessimistic mind.

Try it out, ask any person you perceive as a pessimist if they are a pessimist and their response will be that their a realist.

I know, 'hiring 50/month indefinitely', however I'm sure the guys in 2000 and 2001 thought the same thing...
There is a flow down in place to compass for all delta pilots. I would imagine most guys would go be compass captains before they did the overseas gig. I know that is only a few hundred numbers, but I think it would have to be really bad (9-11 style) to go from hiring 50/month to flowing guys down and then some.

New poolie here with a question. How often do vacancies come out? I know I have an a/c lock for one year but if I wanted to change bases how soon might that be able to happen if I got a base I didn't want to stay in? Thanks in advance.

Whats the latest numbers on how many people have taken jobs at another major while in the pool? I know of one who went to United, but it sounds like DAL is keeping almost all their poolies?

Very true. I guess that would work for those concerned with QOL over money. Good to have options either way.

I know of at least one in the DAL pool who interviewed in Nov but took a job with SWA and intends to stay there. So my uneducated WAG would be that maybe 5-10% of those in the DAL pool have left/will leave for other pastures.

I would think with the expansion/hiring going on, that 1/month might be the norm for awhile.

Most of the ones I know that were in multiple pools either went SWA or Delta....UAL pool has lost several to both of them. The only "pools" that are moving quickly are SWA and JB (which neither really run a "pool")....the 3 legacies are slowing rapidly.
