I did exactly that--wife came down on Fri eve, left Tue morning. +1 for doing so immediately when you get the instructions, for best availability of the flights you want....

NB, the ticket may or may not be PS. In my class' case, the training dept bought tickets rather than jump through hoops to get PS for non-DL employees. Ticket is "better" than PS, will earn points even... but you'll pay a bag fee if you check it, for example. Our tickets down to training were the same way -- cost me $25 bucks to get to work (I decided against jumping up & down on the ticket agent's counter whilst demanding, "Do you know who I am?!?" ). They may have worked out a different process by now.... (For reference, I was 16 Jun class.)

I had a vastly different experience, in the 16 Jun class... My wife and I were pos space/company business everywhere. Her for the spouse dinner and me for any break of 2 days or more. Never paid for 1 bag and had a guaranteed ticket everywhere I went in training. In fact, 1 jet was so oversold after I booked my company business ticket, they were offering $800 & a hotel stay to 2 pax, but I got to stay on. It will all become clear once you start. Enjoy your time before, you'll be busy once you start.

Try to break away from the forums if you can now that you're hired... The professionals in the New Hire & Training department will tell you everything you need to know at/before you need to know it.

Welcome aboard!

I think it was the same experience. The only variable is the $25 dollar bag fee on your way to the first day of training the day before training, since you're not an employee yet. Other than that the same PS applies to all, even in oversold conditions as long as its not oversold when you book it.

Got the call yesterday for 15 Sept class start date! 7 Aug CJO. The start date was pretty much what they told us to expect at the interview.

Same. I use company dental & vision, otherwise TRICARE. YMMV, with kids/no-kids & wife's benefits/lack of benefits being the biggest variables to consider. Good luck!
